Deletion of the article on Edward S. May

I would like to register my concern regarding what I feel was an unecessary deletion of this article, due to the following points:

1. The article was actually scheduled for deletion 1 minute after it's creation.

2. Other articles on counterjihad organisers follow a similar format, using a mixture of primary quotes from self-published sources and the secondary, mainstream sources.

3. The references to May weren't trivial. A mention is a mention, and it's the impact of that mention is what counts, so, when a man is named by a recognised terrorism expert as one of the central organisers of the Counterjihad Europa project, this meets notability requirements. May's notability was achieved even before the Breivik "controversy" (in 2008 in two papers produced by terrorism expert Toby Archer). After Breivik, it came to light that May's influential counterjihad blog, Gates of Vienna (which hosts Fjordman articles and has published highly controversial articles by American and European white supremacists and ultra-nationalist seperatists, was mentioned 88 times.

4. In terms of political importance to the changing face of far-right European politics and their link up to the far-right US political groups and organisations, it's best to take a closer look at what other security organisations have said. For example, the respected ADL has this to say about the white nationalist seperatists that May has been working directly with:

The themes touched upon by speakers at the conference included many of the same issues that white supremacists and racists in the United States focus on today—the preservation of white, European identity in the face of a growing multicultural society.

4. Alternatives to deletion could have included this notice could have been added:

Additionally, the article could have been expertly edited to remove primary sources and the article could have then remained

5. Finally, a small amount of effort could have been expended by a more experienced BIO editor to ensure it meets the standards expected for a living person.

A meeting at the European Parliament on 9th July 2012 included Ned May from the Gates of Vienna website and Stephen Yaxley-Lennon of the EDL.
