The regular article news section features a very diverse range of new featured and A-class content. The articles promoted in April covered topics as diverse as major capital ships and humble gun boats as well as a king, a fighter ace and a junior army officer. The new featured pictures have a strong nautical theme, and include one of the most famous British paintings of all time.
TomStar81 continues his excellent coverage of the centenary of World War I with two articles. He's teamed up with Simon Harley for an op-ed discussing the consequences of the sinking of the RMS Lusitania on 8 May 1915, and has provided a detailed timeline of this and the other fighting which took place around the world that month.

The contest department completed its 94th round of competition last month. A total of 35 articles were submitted by 7 editors. Peacemaker67 came first with 51 points from 8 entries to receive the Chevrons, followed by Tomandjerry211, who earned the Writer's Barnstar with 38 points from 9 entries. Honourable mentions go to Sturmvogel 66 (37 points), Auntiruth55 (21 points), and Djmaschek (18 points). Ian Rose and Lineagegeek also fielded entries.
