Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Greece

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Greece. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Greece|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Greece. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Europe.

Fails WP: NOTDICT. I can't find any sources that could expand the article beyond the definition of the codepage layout, including the six currently in the article. HyperAccelerated (talk) 03:42, 3 December 2024 (UTC)

Tagged 2 years ago and still uncited. Might be notable but it was too difficult for me to tell - no doubt one of you knows Chidgk1 (talk) 16:39, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

- Redirect to katepano would be fine, as the topic is also covered there. Constantine ✍ 17:14, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- Redirect to Katepano: Verges on a dictionary entry and somewhat redundant with dubious independent significance given a related term already has its own article. I could change my vote to merge if it weren't unsourced. Aintabli (talk) 05:37, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
- No prejudice to keeping with the addition of sources and demonstrated significant coverage that is independent of katepano, which I was unable to find. Its unsourced state alone merits a redirect. Aintabli (talk) 06:10, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

- Comment. Does the nominator mean that there are no citations present, or that it's impossible to find citations to support this list? pburka (talk) 16:47, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- Do we really need a list of heirs presumptive to a deposed monarchy? This is a question similar to the list for Liechtenstein. If yes, then please find at least one more secondary source to get to WP:SIGCOV, and ping me. Bearian (talk) 18:27, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. 66.99.15.163 (talk) 19:58, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- Keep per WP:DEL-CONTENT. The lack sourcing concern raised by the nominator can be solved through normal editing. Just looking at sources in a search on "succession" "Greece" and googling each name on that list with those words, I could find sources validating all of these people. The content is able to be verified.4meter4 (talk) 04:19, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, — Benison (Beni · talk) 06:51, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- Just noting but the deletion rationale, "No citations", isn't a valid one for an article deletion that isn't a BLP. There might be other arguments here for Delete but the rationale should have been based more in policy. Liz Read! Talk! 06:47, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
- Either delete because there are no sources, so it fails WP:GNG. See also reasons for deletion, #6 and #7. The web searches done by 4meter4 are inadequate: per WP:NLIST for standalone lists sources that group those individuals as a list or set are required. Or redirect to the duplicate, more substantive article Crown Prince of Greece, which also includes a list of heirs (both male and female, and both apparent and presumptive).
