- Murder of Eve Carson (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (delete) – (View log)
Non-notable event once widely covered, but now lacking in historical significance to keep. Merge significant info with U of North Carolina and delete article. Veggy (talk) 15:11, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. The subject of the article has established notability. Per Wikipedia's notability guidelines, "[an article's subject] does not need to have ongoing coverage from news sources". It was broadly covered by national media and is still covered by local media. And the murder trial will begin later this year or next, and media coverage will almost certainly pick up again. - Speedy keep. Received widespread national coverage at the time; continues to receive periodic coverage in North Carolina. As Rreagan007 says, the trials (unusually there are both federal and state) are late this year, early next and there will be plenty of coverage then. Hippo (talk) 03:03, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - reliable sources show that meets our notability standards. I'm not understanding the reason for the AfD. — Ched : ? 04:40, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - With trials coming up and with someone from American Idol having brought it up, it retains notability. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots 05:29, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - notable per the general notability guideline and WP:Notability (criminal acts) - significant, ongoing coverage about the event, which is the subject of this article indicates notability. Can I also mention that "merge and delete" is almost certainly illegal due to our licensing here. and that Bugs and I were on opposite sides of this debate last time :) Fritzpoll (talk) 07:47, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- It's a good thing I keep smelling salts at the ready. :) Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots 08:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep per WP:Notability (criminal acts). A merge to the location where it once occurred absolutely does not make sense==one would more likely search for "Eve Carson" than "University of North Carolina" in researching the murder. Eauhomme (talk) 15:45, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep per above. This page covers information that is both ongoing and notable. DukeEGR93 22:16, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
