These teams have met over 70 100 times in their history, of which there is a dedicated Wikipedia article at Texas–Texas Tech football rivalry Texas–Texas A&M football rivalry. There are also articles on both teams: 2024 Texas Longhorns football team and 2024 Texas A&M Aggies football team. No indication that this game is specifically notable or demonstrates continued coverage such that a stand-alone article is warranted. Dmoore5556 (talk) 22:35, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

- Keep: FYI, A&M not Tech. Resurrection of one the most storied rivalries in college sports. I'd say it's fairly significant and/or about as significant as a bowl game. Tejano512 (talk) 22:40, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Tejano512 To be fair, Texas–Texas Tech football rivalry is linked in the lead. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 22:44, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yep, I got the rivalry link from the article—I just corrected it both above and in the article. Dmoore5556 (talk) 22:49, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Delete or merge with Texas–Texas A&M football rivalry. This game in and of itself is not notable and the article makes very few claims to notability, many of which are borderline WP:OR (
was one of the most memorable games in the two teams' rivalry
(unsourced),The 2024 matchup reignited one of college football's most storied rivalries

- Strong Keep - The notability, IMO, can be found in the section Legacy. It's a big deal. This is not just some game by a couple of rivals. We need to keep this. — Maile (talk) 00:14, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

- @Maile66: I would argue that the "Legacy" section of the article is undue at this point in the time. The game doesn't have a legacy - it happened nine days ago. In addition, the content in that section (and many others) is not sourced, and makes no real claim to notability in the first place (other than "they didn't play for a bit, and then they played again"). As far as the content in the Legacy section goes, the first sentence is OR and commentary on the rivalry itself, the second just mentions the result and adds some OR/commentary onto that, and the third just mentions that it was the most-watched game in the series's history (which doesn't say much considering I would assume streaming and broadcast access is greater now than at any point in the history of the series) and that an attendance record was broken, which is neat but ultimately not unique. - Strong Delete . Many unsourced claims of notability in the article. This individual game has had no WP:LASTING coverage even two weeks after the game happened. Some content can be merged with the rivalry article (I oppose a redirect), but a standalone article is not needed. Frank Anchor 01:48, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

- Delete per LASTING. Renewal of a rivalry after 13 years with a fairly routine game does not constitute notability. Clarityfiend (talk) 03:06, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete There are three other articles where this is or can be covered. No part of the article explains in any way how this game is so significant that it needs its own page - it is entirely routine, and the rivalry already has an article so duplicative individual game pages are not appropriate just because of who is playing. Reywas92Talk 03:43, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete, merge into Texas–Texas A&M football rivalry. The article is full of OR and the article has no LASTING coverage. If in the future there turns out to be LASTING coverage, then it can be recreated. Esb5415 (talk) (C) 13:16, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete - we don't need articles about every game between rivals. I am not seeing anything here that would suggest lasting notability. Rlendog (talk) 16:12, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete. Part of a long and storied rivalry that has an article. Texas was favored and won easily, outgaining the Aggies, 458 to 248. The teams eneded the season with Texas #4 and A&M unranked. This game can be covered in the existing article about the rivalry. Nothing so extraordinary that a separate stand-alone article is warranted. Cbl62 (talk) 00:16, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete agree with the above - not noteworthy enough for a stand-alone article. SportingFlyer T·C 00:31, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete Pretty routine coverage. KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 16:54, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete per WP:ROUTINE. Conyo14 (talk) 18:54, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete per nomination; this game can be covered adequately in detail at 2024 Texas Longhorns football team, 2024 Texas A&M Aggies football team, and elsewhere. This game does not rise to a level of lasting importance such that it requires its own article. Jweiss11 (talk) 05:44, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete per WP:ROUTINE and other delete votes. WikiGiancarloC2 (talk) 01:37, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete – even as a fan, the game is only relevant as the resumption of the Texas–Texas A&M football rivalry. Any relevant details can be incorporated there; the game has no lasting significance on its own outside of that (as few rivalry games do, aside from clear exceptions such as the Kick Six).
