OffsBlink (talk) 17:25, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Artur Avila / Ávila
[edit]Dear Yanguas, you recently moved Artur Avila to Artur Ávila. A (very short) discussion on the talk page two years ago concluded that the name should not have an accent. Could you please give your reason for the move on Talk:Artur Ávila? I am afraid I don't have any knowledge of Brazilian names... Thanks, Jitse Niesen (talk) 09:28, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. Categories must also be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 19:46, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Doniago: From Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan#Plot: When McCoy tries to prevent Spock's entry, as exposure to the high levels of radiation would be fatal, Spock incapacitates the doctor with a Vulcan nerve pinch and performs a mind meld, telling him to "remember".
- Live long and prosper. Yanguas (talk) 19:58, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting back to me. "Films about X" categories should only be used when X is a primary element of the film. I know the mind meld is ultimately significant, but as an element of this film, it's a very minor aspect. Hope this makes sense. If you disagree, you're welcome to start a discussion at the article's Talk page. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 20:12, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Doniago: I respect your opinion, but I think it is only your opinion. Wikipedia is full of movie articles categorized as "Films about X" when this X is not the primary subject. Example: Category:Films about Elizabeth I of England. Most are movies that only mention the queen, or whose plot happens in her era, but they are not movies about her. About Star Trek: this mind meld is the basis of the 3rd. film's plot. Thanks to it, Spock will be able to be saved. Yanguas (talk) 20:23, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- I'd encourage you to look at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Film#Categories: Films about foo. While it may have been past practice to add such categories even when the elements were incidental to the overall film, at present there appears to be a consensus that that is no longer appropriate.
