Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to user pages or sandboxes, as you did at Christian Busch (management scientist). Since these pages have not been accepted as articles, user pages, sandboxes and drafts are not suitable for linking in articles. and such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been deleted, please do not re-add any such links, thank you - Arjayay (talk) Arjayay (talk) 08:57, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Arjayay: Thanks, this was my error during copy - paste, now the correct link to CV is there.--Wortulo (talk) 09:38, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Non-attributed translations

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from de:Christian_Busch_(Wirtschaftswissenschaftler) to Christian Busch (management scientist). While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:

NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.

Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 16:37, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Vanderwaalforces: Thanks, I have seen the problem also of course. But I am the author of both German and English article of Christian Busch and the 2 articles are different. I had in Version 08-23-2024 the remark:
I am the author in German Wikipedia of Christian Busch (Wirtschaftswissenschaftler). Starting version is from [1]
Later I had on article the translation message {{translated page|de|Christian Busch (Wirtschaftswissenschaftler)|version=247941879}}. Wortulo (talk) 16:31, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I added this box again. Is this OK? I am familiar with German WP, it's my first article in English. Wortulo (talk) 17:12, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A BOT transferred it to talk page of this article, seems to be now at the correct place :-) Wortulo (talk) 17:24, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, just take note of the above, that you have to follow the format of attribution. I don’t think it’s matters whether you’re the sole author of the German one or not, as long as you’re translating from a local-language Wikipedia TO English-language Wikipedia, then you have to follow this process. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 18:26, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I will use the box from the beginning next time. What status has this box? Used 97'000 times and exactly recommended for this purpose! [2]
I copied it also from an official page. You can find the exact German original version there - instead of looking for date and time in your proposal. Wortulo (talk) 18:47, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nevertheless I have added your proposal in Version History.@Vanderwaalforces: Wortulo (talk) 19:12, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Class=C?

[edit]

@Rfl0216: Allow me to ask you here regarding this Classification C of page Christian Busch (management scientist). I apologize at first, that I am not so familiar with biographies in en:WP. My home is de:WP, where I try to write in biographies more than in a CV, this with success. I respect the "cultural differences" and I want to learn. The English article is already shorter than my German version (I also was author and this was a hint). The system of classification is not bad (we do not have). But when I read the description of C it is not clear, if something is missing or too much. I want to improve this article. Can you give some hints, why only C? I thank you in advance Wortulo (talk) 16:45, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

protocol: unfortunately no answer, also at his disc. Changed it without comment to B. Wortulo (talk) 16:48, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
