Hello Severnbore! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. If you decide that you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Below are some recommended guidelines to facilitate your involvement. Happy Editing! -- LittleOldMe 16:58, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay... you added a link; I took it out; you've put it back again. Why? The link doesn't seem to have much specific relevance to Stourport - if it belongs anywhere then it belongs under River Severn - and the URL's similarity to your username would suggest that it's your personal website. A Wikipedia guideline says you should not add a "page that you own or maintain". It also doesn't help that you didn't explain why you'd put the link back; changes made without an edit summary are not helpful. So... why is this link appropriate for the page? Spamming / conflict of interest

[edit]

You have added www.severntales.co.uk to a lot of articles. I am assuming that this is your own website as it redirects from www.severnbore.ndirect.co.uk. If this is the case then you are in real danger of being censured for spamming. At best this is conflict of interest. I would suggest that you remove the links from all articles except the River Severn article itself. --Cheesy Mike (talk) 18:03, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

http://severnbore.ndirect.co.uk no longer exists. I was simply changing to the new url of http://www.severntales.co.uk. There is nothing worse than being taken to dead links.

So it isn't your website? I do think you have put links to the site on too many articles and you might consider reducing the number before somebody else does. (Nice site though!) --Cheesy Mike (talk) 13:01, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --h2g2bob (talk) 00:22, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. I have nominated Disasters on the Severn, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Disasters on the Severn. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Simple Bob (talk) 15:26, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
