Parentheticals

[edit]

I'm pretty sure I've approached you about this before, but please stop adding parentheticals to articles. You use parentheticals far too much, like here, where for some reason you write "On Earth-15061 (which takes place in an alternate future in the year 20XX)" instead of "On Earth-15061, which takes place in an alternate future in the year 20XX." Of course I have to ignore for a moment what "20XX" is supposed to mean to a casual reader... Is that a guess? Is that what the year is referred to in-universe? Who knows...

Excessive parentheticals make articles look sloppy and amateurish and are almost never the way to go. If your instinct is to use parentheticals, always try commas first, or consider rewriting the sentence. Parentheticals are not wedges to be hammered into the middle of sentences. Parentheticals are intended to be whispers. We wouldn't be whispering "a black hole creating machine", we'd be saying it in a normal voice if we were explaining what the Heart of Darkness is. "Holy crap, the Triceratons have activated some kind of black hole generating machine--The Heart of Darkness!" Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:40, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

K.C. Undercover

[edit]

Hi,

Regarding this edit, we generally document guest star credits exactly as-is, with some exceptions such as changing capitalization in line with the Manual of Style. Co-stars are not to be confused with guest stars, and they are usually minor roles so they shouldn't be listed. Although in this case, it's pretty shocking that Brett only got a co-star credit (despite the press release citing him as a guest star), especially since he was featured as a special guest star in earlier episodes, that was their decision. Same goes for the other characters, still pretty surprising even if not as much as Brett. nyuszika7h (talk) 21:37, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of Universes and Realms in Once Upon a Time

[edit]

Hi. Firstly, I have noticed that you keep writing descriptive synopsis for the worlds in the first section.

Eg 1. Victorian England is a world based on England during the Victorian era. This is where Alice comes from.

Eg 2. Oz is a world that serves as the location of the Sisterhood of Witches and other residents including a transported failing circus performer from our world named Walsh (who operated as the Wizard of Oz). Zelena was raised and adopted by a family in this world before she learned of her family in the Enchanted Forest and would later begin her origins as the Wicked Witch of the West.)

This is not needed when there is already a history written. Currently, I have been writing the complete history for each worlds, when those are added, long descriptive at the beginning is not needed as it is already written in the history. It's just repeating the history. As for worlds where you compare it to ours : (Victorian England is a world based on England during the Victorian era) this is technically not need. This world is similar to ours Victorian era BUT the timeline is concurrent to ours.

Secondly, you removed the part where I said that Victorian England was cursed by the Dark Curse. In OUaTiW, it it proven that this world was affected as none of the characters aged for 28 years. The White Rabbit and Will only comes to that land to save Alice after the curse broke.

Thirdly, the London, England location. For this, I have already posted a thread in the talk page. It's better to discuss there.

Hopefully you'll see this and get back to me. Thanks for listening. Naveenruben97 (talk) 02:51, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of World (Replied)

[edit]

Hi, I have just replied to your questions in the talk page for the List of Worlds. But I do not remember saying anything related to Dorothy tho? XD Naveenruben97 (talk) 09:05, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I have another confirmation for the London, England place. According to TV Guide with interviews (http://www.tvguide.com/news/once-upon-time-season2-finale-spoilers-1064946/) Bae landed in Victorian London and ends up in a realm called London, England. Another proof is in the Season 2 episode The Queen is Dead, Bae (Neal Cassidy) mentions "This world isn't the first stop from my home world", referring "this world" to the Land Without Magic, meaning London, England was never part of the Land Without Magic. He was there first, then Neverland, then years later Our World.

For my other explanations, see the talk page. Naveenruben97 (talk) 05:42, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please hold back on making unncessary edits:

Regarding Guts': THIS EDIT The hoodie is not blue. It's more grey. Also the derivation of his name needs to be cited to an episode or a reference from the production site.

Regarding THIS EDIT You don't need to say that the Elite Four are "loyal to Satsuki" They're in her council so of course they serve her. That would be like saying "Ryuko's best friend. She is loyal to Ryuko."

Also, you do not need to say "Among the members of the Honnouji Academy Elite Four are:" because all four members are known.

Same with "Several of the school's club leaders challenge Ryuko in early episodes of the series where they serve Satsuki and the Hannouji Academy Elite Four." This isn't needed.

Listing out every last club that was mentioned in the series, as with "In addition, there are unnamed leaders of the Biology Club, the 100 Poet's Club, the Rakugo Club, the Swimming Club, the Basketball Club, the Wrestling Club, the American Football Club, and the Baseball Club." is minute detail. The only reason the club leaders are given a pass is because they are given a profile on the website.

Also, not every sentence needs to start with the character's name. Pronouns are allowable. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:00, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This edit and corresponding summary is very frustrating, because again you are demonstrating a lack of awareness for established policies, in this case, WP:V. By no stretch of the imagination would saying "so-and-so told me by email that X was true" qualify as verifiable. Also, unless there are developer credits in the episodes, the credit doesn't belong in the article. We don't manufacture credits, we go by what the studio puts out. If a person does the same work that an Executive Director does on a series, but is only credited as a Story Editor, we don't unilaterally decide, "Well, they worked really hard, so we should give them an Executive Director credit." We go by what the show's credits say. That's it. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:50, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Victorian London / Edwardian London

[edit]

Hi, I say your message. Yes, I had been wondering too about that. I'm not really sure who changed it but I think Edwardian London is better. According to the reference for that world, it's considered as Victorian or Edwardian London and since we already have a Victorian-era themed world, this one can't be the same too.

I remmeber once Eddy Kitsis said that the Darling's and Alice's London are not the same world. So, probably one in the Victorian Era (Victorian England - Alice) another Edwardian Era (Edwardian London - Darlings) and then the one with not time (1920s England - De Vil) Naveenruben97 (talk) 02:53, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hey there, could you help me with something. Go to this link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_Once_Upon_a_Time_characters#Nicknames) and comment on your own opinion for the matter.

This user is trying to change the format of the page on the way we categorize the charcaters names (Eg: Regina Mills/Evil Queen) to Regina Mills (The Evil Queen). This user calls their titles (Evil Queen, Queen of Hearts, Red Queen, White Queen, etc) as nicknames and wants to place them in brackets : (). I feel that it's really messy and disorganized but this user is fighting back regarding the issue.

The user also wants to place "Unknown" in the Real World counterpart for some as he/she thinks that it's need. But, as proven, some like Granny and Jefferson and Regina does not really have Real World counterparts, so meaning for the others (like some of the dwarves), it cannot be confirmed that they even had a counterpart. N/A is better as all the characters are used with N/A.

I had counter-argued with her points. Due read it tho. Naveenruben97 (talk) 08:42, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Additions to Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir

[edit]

Hi Rtkat3! Thank you for your efforts to improve Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir; unfortunately, the few dozen characters you added do not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, so I had to revert your edit. You can read MOS:TVCAST for more detailed info, but basically, only the main characters and frequently recurring characters should be listed. The other students either appear prominently in just one episode, or have background roles; detailed information about them is best left to episode summaries in which they appear. Thanks for your understanding. Soren121 (talk) 21:55, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikia is used as a source

[edit]

Hi, you to let you know, some part of the List of worlds in Once Upon a Time is taken from Wikia, eventhe locations with an uncanon name. Now, I have asked the Wikia admins and they are allowing us to keep it, but we need to state them as a source (meaning appreciate all their hard work and credit them). I think we should. Last time, I remember that the worlds page copied blindly from the Wikia page and in the end, the entire page was deleted due to plagiarism. Is there any way to add like a box or something at the top of the page stating that the page uses some information from the Wikia page and credits goes to the contributors? like in the Characters page there's a box at the top stating the multiple issues with the page (a boxlike that)? Naveenruben97 (talk) 08:19, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey and yeah, they let us use their information, but they wants to be credited in some way. I think the box at the top is the easiest way to credit them. But I do not know how to do that (Hint: something like the characters page but that one states multiple issues) Naveenruben97 (talk) 01:49, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Worst Place

[edit]

I copy pasted this from the talk page as none replied.

Hey guys and girls, I'm opening this section is to talk about the Worst Place and the characters involved in it. Currently, characters like Blacktooth and Captain Silver is mentioned to be in the Worst Place. After the recent episode (Ruby Slippers), it can be confirmed that the River of Lost Souls is a portal/gateway to the Worst Place. This is further confirmed with Emily Brown (Auntie Em). Her mug was spiked with water from that river and after she physically melted, she was send to the river. Her tombstone was later shown to be cracked, meaning she is now in the Worst Place. In another episode (Devil's Due), Hades did mention that the River of Lost Souls is connected to that world. Does this means that Milah and Gaston is too now in the Worst Place? I think so, but I'm still having doubts and require opinions from other users. Anyone as any theories as how this river/world (Worst Place) works? Cause it's been mentioned before that when the tomb is cracked, it means the soul is trapped in the Worst Place.

After the episode "Ruby Slippers", it can be said that the River of Lost Souls sends the victims to the Worst Place and there was an episode where Hades mentioned to Hook that the river is connected to the Worst Place, meaning all those who had been thrown into the river is now in the Worst Place. Naveenruben97 (talk) 06:51, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but in Ruby Slippers, it's shown that after Aunt Em was sent to the river, her tombstone cracked, meaning she's in the Worst Place. This proves that the river sends souls to the Worst Place. Naveenruben97 (talk) 04:32, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I'm sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you can add the ratings for the last two episodes of USM? I've contacted other people, asking them to add it, but they're no responding. The ratings for "The Sinister Six - Part 2" Archived 2016-08-16 at the Wayback Machine and ratings for "Agent Web" Archived 2016-08-18 at the Wayback Machine.--68.11.91.158 (talk) 18:07, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Spider-Man (Miles Morales)

[edit]

Please stop adding trivial episode synopses to articles on comics characters, as you did with this edit to Spider-Man (Miles Morales). We've been over this a million times, and yet you just don't seem to care: The "Other media" sections of such articles should summarize such info, not list a synopsis of every episode of every media adaptation featuring the character. Nightscream (talk) 02:08, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mentioning the codename is fine, but going into the level of detail you did is not necessary to do so.
I'm liking the new series just fine. Nightscream (talk) 15:10, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Please don't change links such as [[Dr. Jekyll]], which redirects to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (character), to be piped like [[Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (character)|Dr. Jekyll]]. The existing link is fine per WP:NOTBROKEN, and if we avoided redirects every time, we couldn't tell how commonly they are linked to. (Other wikis, such as the Hungarian Wikipedia, sadly have a convention to bypass redirects every time when linking.) nyuszika7h (talk) 18:01, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

July 2016

[edit]

Please refrain from making changes to plot summaries/synopses that conflict with the plot summary edit guides, as you did at 2012 (film). You may wish to review the specific guidelines for films, musicals, television episodes, anime/manga, novels and non-fiction books. Excessive detail and high word counts should be avoided. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -- DonIago (talk) 16:00, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Haré+Guu characters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mind reading. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Miles Morales in Civil War II response

[edit]

I don't think it's that salient for inclusion. Nightscream (talk) 17:46, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not every storyline needs to be mentioned. Articles only need to summarize the most salient info. Nightscream (talk) 19:05, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just letting you know that the character page was already talking about the comic book in one section. All the info was saved. Jhenderson 777 02:48, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I am mutual. Although you might want to discuss on either of the talk pages of the editor who felt strongly about it should have been merged.Jhenderson 777 03:00, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Marvel Super Hero Adventures: Frost Fight! has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

insignificance coverage to meet notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shinma until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. SephyTheThird (talk) 17:30, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • I did a full history import to the Manga Wikia. [3] to save that article. I created that Wikia when so many manga and anime articles were being deleted, just to save as many as possible. Anyway, you have created 368 articles on Wikipedia that are still there and 22 which have been deleted. If you join the Manga Wikia I'll make you an administrator, and you continue work on manga and anime articles as you see fit, no worries about your work being deleted.
