Great Turkish War
[edit]I undid your edit, which you mistakenly marked as minor. Please take this to the article's talk page, Talk:Great Turkish War, if you think it should be changed. John (talk) 19:52, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
Disruptive editing
[edit]You have been editing for a year. Some of your edits are okay, but there's a pattern of other disruptive edits including to user pages diff, diff, diff including Jimbo's today which could be judged a BLP violation. There's likely disguised vandalism like this and (noting your edit summary as well) and this. I think the community would prefer it if you refrain from the dubious edits and stuck to trying to improve Wikipedia. Thanks MarcGarver (talk) 14:22, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- @MarcGarver
- 1. Yeah sure, it was disruptive
- 2. The edit on Jimbo's was ACTUALLY truthful. He did run Bomis, which was a dot-com company, and pornographic :)
- 3. Tf is BLP? PortugueseWikiMan (talk) 15:37, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- "BLP" primarily refers to information on living people and stands for "biographies of living persons". This policy applies to every page with such information, not just biographical articles.
- I guess your edits were truthful, looking at Bomis, but you edited Jimbo's personal user page, not his mainspace article, which mentions Boris. Inserting a sentence that starts with "I was also the founder of..." may mislead readers into thinking he said that. ObserveOwl (talk) 16:41, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- @ObserveOwl If it can mislead users, then why does Jimbo allow other people to edit their page? PortugueseWikiMan (talk) 18:05, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe to organize the text a little better, correcting spelling mistakes or awkward wording, or other uncontroversial stuff like that, not add more information that's more appropriate for his actual article. It's also meant as a reminder that Wikipedia is open for everyone to edit. ObserveOwl (talk) 18:13, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- @ObserveOwl oh ok. thx :) PortugueseWikiMan (talk) 18:14, 15 January 2025 (UTC)

- I should have been clearer. The policy, available here on living people requires contentious material to be cited wherever it is written - it is usually interpreted to mean anywhere, not just in articles.
Adding this is clearly controversial and not cited, and so a breach of the policy albeit you could argue it is cited in the article itself MarcGarver (talk) 17:17, 15 January 2025 (UTC)Remove immediately any contentious material about a living person that...is unsourced or poorly sourced
Continued disruptive editing
[edit]You have moved from trolling on Jimbo Wales' user page to breaking the image description on Greater Germanic Reich while calling editors "idiots", and then continuing to edit war over it. This is quickly reaching WP:NOTHERE territory and will get you blocked if you continue. I have no idea what possesses you do edit like this, but I urge you to stop this now and find something more productive to do on Wikipedia.--Atlan (talk) 11:10, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Atlan
- 1. I thought it was a constructive edit since all that I added was factual, but I've since moved on.
- 2. You're the one breaking the description! The file breaks without the "]]"... PortugueseWikiMan (talk) 11:12, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
If you do not see how your version of the article breaks an image description that was fine before you touched it, then we have a serious competency issue here.--Atlan (talk) 11:17, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Atlan it wasn't fine, the file code appeared at the beginning of the article! PortugueseWikiMan (talk) 11:19, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
What file code? It's just an image template with a description, which you broke by adding closing brackets in the middle of it. You didn't even remove the closing brackets that were already there, you just added new ones in the wrong place, thereby leaving the original closing brackets with no opening brackets. It's an incredibly botched edit and you continuing to double down on it AND calling editors idiots is a real problem.--Atlan (talk) 11:35, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Atlan I have no idea how to show a screenshot, but go see the page PortugueseWikiMan (talk) 12:06, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
I did see the page, which is why your edit keeps getting reverted.--Atlan (talk) 12:14, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
