I've been uncertain about the viability of this article since its creation; although it largely avoids SOAP in its tone, it's still largely OR/SYNTH and something like news/magazine rather than encyclopedic content.....thoughts? Danny Williams

I noticed you rated the Danny Williams article and I was wondering if you had any suggestions of how to improve it? As well is there any reason why you only gave the article a mid-importance in the "WikiProject Canada / Newfoundland & Labrador / Politicians", I am a bit bias but I would think it should be higher. Williams became a household name theoughout the country and was considered by many media outlets as the most high-profile premier so I find mid-importance a bit strange, though it doesn't make much of a difference.

Rugrats

Hello. It seems beyond me why you would revert at least one of my last two edits. First of all, it is true that Rugrats may be surpassed by SpongeBob (or is such an edit against "Wikipedia is not a crystal ball"?). National Register of Electors

Hi there. You mentioned here that you might be able to help out with the article National Register of Electors. Someone recently nominated it for GA; would you mind doing a review? If you're not familiar with the process, there are six key criteria an article should satisfy to pass GA. (This one may not do well on the last point, illustrations, though I've perused Commons to find something suitable.) Here's a current review of the Tony Blair article for an idea of what's involved. I know there are a few issues I've yet to address, but I'd like a critical opinion from someone else.

Your proposed Deletion of James Channing Shaw article

Hi PKT, just a quick courtesy note to say I have opposed your proposed deletion of the James Channing Shaw article. I've given my reasons on the Talk:James_Channing_Shaw#Proposed_deletion page. This article came up as part of the "random unsourced biographies" project, so, although I know nothing about Mr Shaw, I tried to assist the project by finding sources for his Biography. My google search came up with over a million online references to him, and his best-known publication is still in print snd is readily available to the public via Amazon. So I think it might be worthwhile retaining his biography on WikiP for the time being, even though it is just a stub. Readers of his writings may wish to know more about him. Honestly, info on the Hall of Fame is pretty hard to come by. You'd think creating a simple website would be a priority for the organizers, but I've never been able to find anything - probably due to the fact that it's not a money making initiative. Guild of Copy Editors July 2011 backlog elimination drive report GOCE July 2011 backlog elimination drive progress graphs Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors July 2011 Backlog elimination drive. Thank you for participating! Here is your end-of-drive report. Participation 50 people signed up for the drive, of which 39 participated. Thanks to all who copy edited articles and helped us reduce the backlogs in both the total articles and requests. We offered a bonus for copy edits from the Requests page, and have been somewhat successful in reducing that backlog, as a record 89 new requests were received in the month of July. Progress report During the month of July we reduced the backlog by 338 articles, or by about 8.5%. We did not reach our goal of a 10% reduction, but we came close, and did very well considering the small size of the group participating. Since our Backlog elimination drives began in May 2010, we have reduced the backlog by 4,708 articles. End-of-drive results can be found here. We will be handing out barnstars within the next week or two. Re: National Basketball League of Canada

Well, as an avid Canadian sports fan, and a frequent viewer of TSN and Rogers Sportsnet, I can definitively tell you that this league has NO prominence in the country. CIS basketball is more important than the National Basketball League of Canada. PKT(alk) 16:11, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Obviously, if the nationality of the combatant is the criteria, then you are right. I presume then that WP:Great Britain would say that the Battle of Waterloo is within its scope, but Napoleon is not. In that sense, Tecumseh who sided with the British in the War of 1812 and helped them defend Canada, dying in the process, at the Battle of the Thames is outside your project? You may have a point. I looked at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Toronto#Scope_includes_Markham.3F - It seems odd to include the cities themselves, but not their contents. Usually metro-area projects include the things associated with the suburbs too. For instance it's common for major corporations and groups of people to move outside of the core/main city and into the suburbs, but they are still heavily associated with the core city.

Articles about places and things about suburbs generally need the attention from the same pool editors who edit articles about places and things in the city limits.

On September 23rd, traffic to Portal:James Bond doubled, and has stayed at the new level since then. I can't figure out what happened.

Star Pirates AfD page standoff

Hello :)

I'm Captain Waffles, a player of Star Pirates and I would like to make an appeal for your input on the AfD page. The opposition is mainly based off the remarks of a certain "Quasi Reality Event". This person stated that they were a SP player, and it is broadly believed that the AfD page was created by someone with hard feelings towards SHG. There have been many banned players that became extremely angry when the Admins booted them for breaking rules, some of them for more extreme than others.

What I would like is for you to review the page one more time, it has been updated and vastly improved, many relevant sources are now provided, and formatting organized. The AfD has found itself at a complete standstill with bias smearing both sides. We need someone to provide an objective analysis of the page's current status. If you feel that the page is still not appropriate, then we will not be bitter over deletion. We have done all we can at this point and just need an objective opinion.

Thanks for your note. Remember that the AfD process calls for closure after 5 days, at which time a closing admin will review the discussion and determine whether the consensus is to keep or delete, with "no consensus" leading to keep. The Star Pirates discussion is not at a standstill - the clock is ticking. My role in the Star Pirates discussion is neutral. I merely found that some lazy monkey had gone through the first of three steps in an AfD nomination process, and I couldn't leave the article the way it was. I'm not a gamer at all, and I have no opinion as to whether or not Star Pirates might meet notability standards. PKT(alk) 16:26, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

A friend of mine had his IP blocked from editing after he made a contribution regarding due process.
