Twin cities
[edit]Have you obtained sufficient consensus to move this page? Are you going to follow through with the dozens of subsequent necessary edits? I understand why you have moved the page and what you are trying to achieve, but I don't think you are aware of how much editorial debris this has left in the wake. This page has already been renamed more than once. Renaming it again (as you have done) creates "double redirects", which are bad, because they are links which no longer work. Someone (you) now has to visit all those pages and manually fix the broken links.
It might have been better to put a note at the top of the original page saying something like "this article is about twin cities where the twinning has grown out of geographical proximity. For articles about other kinds of twinning, please see this disambiguation page." It is also on that page that you can put the Minnesota example.
Your sentence about "the term is used in English originally" blah blah is absolutely ludicrous. Minnesota is NOT the origin of this term, nor is it the most famous example. It only matters to Americans. I grew up in Twin Cities in Canada. When I was a child and read an autobiography of Charles Shulz, I walked away from it convinced that he had grown up in my own neighbourhood and I was miffed that no one had told me he was local. When I look in my phone book under "Twin", I get a full page of local businesses using that in their names -- auto dealers, service clubs, etc. BeeTea 02:02, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
