Recent changes
- A
oauth_consumer
variable has been added to the AbuseFilter to enable identifying changes made by specific tools. [1] - Gadgets are now able to directly include JSON pages. This means some gadgets can now be configured by administrators without needing the interface administrator permission, such as with the Geonotice gadget. [2]
- Gadgets can now specify page actions on which they are available. For example,
|actions=edit,history
will load a gadget only while editing and on history pages. [3] - Gadgets can now be loaded on demand with the
withgadget
URL parameter. This can be used to replace an earlier snippet that typically looks likewithJS
orwithCSS
. [4] - At wikis where the Mentorship system is configured, you can now use the Action API to get a list of a mentor's mentees. [5]
- The heading on the main page can now be configured using MediaWiki:Mainpage-title-loggedin for logged-in users and MediaWiki:Mainpage-title for logged-out users. Any CSS that was previously used to hide the heading should be removed. [6] [7]
- Four special pages (and their API counterparts) now have a maximum database query execution time of 30 seconds. These special pages are: RecentChanges, Watchlist, Contributions, and Log. This change will help with site performance and stability. You can read more details about this change including some possible solutions if this affects your workflows. [8]
- The sticky header has been deployed for 50% of logged-in users on more than 10 wikis. This is part of the Desktop Improvements. See how to take part in the project.
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 11 January. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 12 January. It will be on all wikis from 13 January (calendar).

Distructive Edit Reverts
Hi,
You recently reverted it edit I made and did so within less than 10 seconds. I don’t understand the motivation. Does it really make you feel better to go around destroying peoples’ contributions? For some reason Wikipedia wouldn’t allow me to add a citation when I initially added the content and I found 10 seconds later when I went to go edit it again to add the citation that you had already deleted it. Do some people really feel so badly about themselves that they need to go around policing everyone on Wikipedia in order to feel better? Or to make bots to do the same? 108.250.76.89 (talk) 03:08, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
- There's no deadline, and your work is saved in the article's revision history. Just add it again, with a source this time. And try not to be rude to other editors who are merely following Wikipedia policy on reliable sources. ––FormalDude talk 03:13, 15 January 2022 (UTC) (talk page watcher)
- @108.250.76.89: Hi, Wikipedia always allow the editor to add the source. I am one of the counter vandalism trainer in English Wikipedia and it is part of my work to monitor the edits in Wikipedia. This was your edit and you didnt provide and indepedent, reliable (IRS) source to support your contain claim. You are welcome to add the information back provided you can provide an inline citation to support the info. You can use the horizontal format of Template:Cite web if the source is from the web. Cassiopeia talk 03:15, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
- I’m not being rude. The person that removed this within 10 seconds, is. There’s a lot of arrogance amongst Wikipedia editors and it’s likely that those who have been on for a while are so steeped in it themselves that they don’t realize it. Are citations needed for this claim? They certainly exist.
- @108.250.76.89: I know you are not being rude but may be frustrated. I believe there are some arrogance editors in Wikipedia as we have millions of editors in Wikipedia and the probability could be some of them are a little bit arrogance but I am not one of them. I added the message in your talk page is to educate you of Wikipedia guidlines and point you to the page which you can find further info/correction for the edit your made. The Wikipedia core policy is verifiability and the editor who changed or added the info need to provide the source to support the claim - see WP:PROVEIT and WP:BURDEN. Stay safe and best. You are the destructive not me
You can not judge me I am destructing the pages. If you have any knowledge about the topic and different opinions, then I can discuss with you. But you do not want to do it. If you do not come to discuss or block my IP, I will not allow you to revert my changing. 188.119.60.128 (talk) 03:53, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
- @188.119.60.128: There are several editors have informed you of your edits where you removed the sourced content and you have continued to edit in the same fashion and that is destructive. Wikipedia is not about my or your opinions but all about verification. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked. Cassiopeia talk 04:17, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

Is it ok now?

- When using WikiEditor (also known as the 2010 wikitext editor), people will now see a warning if they link to disambiguation pages. If you click "Review link" in the warning, it will ask you to correct the link to a more specific term. You can read more information about this completed 2021 Community Wishlist item.
- You can automatically subscribe to all of the talk page discussions that you start or comment in using DiscussionTools. You will receive notifications when another editor replies. This is available at most wikis. Go to your Preferences and turn on "Automatically subscribe to topics". [9]
- When asked to create a new page or talk page section, input fields can be "preloaded" with some text. This feature is now limited to wikitext pages. This is so users can't be tricked into making malicious edits. There is a discussion about if this feature should be re-enabled for some content types.

KnightOfHylia, "Monique Heart" page edit
Hello,
I received a message that my edit on this page has been removed but it seems to have remained the same. What would be a proper citation for this? The person in real life has changed their stage name for the drag queen persona from "Monique Heart" to "Mo Heart."
I could cite it from a YouTube video, Drag Race Fan Wiki Page, or article. What would be preferred?
Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KnightOfHYlia (talk • contribs) 02:16, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- KnightOfHYlia, Good day. First of all pls read WP:COMMONNAME to make sure the new name adhere to the guidelines prior changing the name in the lead section (intro) and the article name. Secondly, utube and all social media are considered not reliable sources and can NOT be used to support the info changed/added. You need to find independent, reliable sources such as from the newspapers. Pls use horizontal format of Template:Citeweb if the sources are from the web. Pls see more Wikipedia guidelines on the welcome message which I have placed in your talk page. Cassiopeia talk 02:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
Ilia Topuria German?
Provide the proof that Ilia Topuria is German. He has Georgian and Spanish passports. He is ethnically Georgian, what you are doing is vandalism. Lemabeta (talk) 00:24, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Lemabeta You didnt provide source to support the claim. He was born and raised in Germany and that is well sourced. Again, I have informed you I have commented on the article talk page. Pls discussion in one talk page and not your talk, my talk page and the article talk page. Pls go to the article talk page.00:34, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

In reference to the edit you reverted, the only sources I used were the ones already present, aside from the three blogs which I removed for not being good sources, as described in my edit summary. I don't believe I added any new information that would require new sources given the entirety of my edit was removing text sourced to unreliable sources and then fixing the subsequent mess that would have made of the section. 108.174.175.69 (talk) 03:46, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- @108.174.175.69: Ok, you can add back the info you had added but you need to provide independent, reliable source. Cassiopeia talk 03:58, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- I feel you may not understand what I meant. I didn't add new information, my edit was removing information that was taken from unreliable sources as well as the sources themselves. The only new addition to the article made by my edit was a different introductory sentence summarizing the first part of the section and replacing the one that I had deleted. Is there anything specific that I wrote that you believe required a new source? 108.174.175.69 (talk) 04:21, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Re:Institute for Economics and Peace
Hi, Responding about your message regarding my work on this page. If you check the longer revision history on the page you'll see that I did explain what I was doing which was "Moved material about awards from lead section to newly created subsection. Edited out some info about where launches took place in past years and adressed some other minor issues flagged by others" The reason this probably wasn't clear is that this material didn't immediately show up as I'd wanted it too and I had to add a lot more revisions because I was having an issue with actually doing that I kept on getting a "Cite error: A [1] (see the help page)." so as I was submitting very similar things multiple times to try to figure out how to get rid of that error I did not always post the full explanation. I have now solved the problem and was in the midst of finalizing this new section when you reverted it. I do think that taking this information out of the lead is more in fitting with the standards of Wikipedia but if you disagree I don't have strong feelings about it. Do you agree with me about moving the material down? KNY22 (talk) 04:17, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

- ^ tag is missing the closing
- KNY22 Good day and thank you for the message. These are your edits. Two things here. (1) You have removed sourced content (2 paragraph) without explanation. (2) You added unsourced content on the "External Recognition". Information added or changed needs to be supported by independent, reliable sources such as from major newspapers. You can use the horizontal format of Template:Cite Web if the sources are from the web. You need to be provide hist diff so I may know the error you stated (I think you didnt include the closing tag without the hist diff provided). I have placed a welcome message on your talk page and see more Wikipedia guidelines for your familiarity of them. Cassiopeia talk 04:29, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- As I've already explained I was moving those 2 paragraphs of the article not removing them and I was not adding ANY unsourced content. When you interrupted my worked I had figured out that something about the moving of the source code for the citations was not workings so I had already made one of them active by recreating it and was in the process of doing that for the other. I agree that it would not be acceptable to take out sources. But as I said and if you look at the changes I've made I'm not introducing any content I'm merely moving some of it to a more appropriate location and reshaping or removing some other small sentences to address the template on top of article that suggest it reads like an ad (as I did note in my edit notes). KNY22 (talk) 04:38, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- KNY22 when moving the sourced content, do it in one edit. You are welcome to copyedit the article. Btw. pls add an additional ":" from the previous message for one right indentation as this is the communication protocol in talk pages (I have added them for you). Happy editing. CVUA (Counter Vandalism Unit Academy) Student Admission Request
Hi, Cassiopeia. I am Iloveguppy, a relatively new user of Wikipedia. I have recently been interested in becoming a member of the counter vandalism unit and have made 200+ edits. Since you are a trainer for CVUA, Wonder if you could accept me as one of your students.
Hope to hear from you soon.Iloveguppy 12:41, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Iloveguppy Thank you for interested in the CVUA program. The min main space edits to join the program is 200 and currently you have only 50 - see here. I have sent you a welcome message, pls read the links provided so you may understand some basic Wikipedia guidelines and maybe you can start helping in Wikipedia:Basic copyediting areas. When you have over 200 mainspace edit and you still want to join the program then pls pop back here. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 07:19, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

Good morning Cassiopeia. I received your message this morning and began to re-enter my changes with citatations to ahigh quality review article. - Pskroenung Good day and thank you for the question. Pls provide the article name next time so I may know which article you was referring to. This were your edits where you added unsourced content which I reverted them. This-2 were your edits which you added the sources except one sentence and User:Mako001 reverted your edit and not me - see here-3. You can add back the sourced info but not the one without. Anne Hamburger
When another user admits they were mistaken to put a message on my page and undoes the reversion of my changes they made I find it curious that you would then add the promotion flag back to my page on your own. Why? The only change I made after that was actually to try to address the message you had sent me by changing one sentence to a more neutral version that i had proposed to you in the message you left me on the other users talk page. It was an attempt at consensus building and good faith on my part to do so. I would like to know what material you believe I added that was promotional? Meanwhile in the changes you've made to the site you've added in a spelling error to the last name of the subject and also an inaccuracy about the awardsKNY22 (talk) 06:36, 22 January 2022 (UTC).
- KNY22 Thank you for the message above and understand your frustration. I understand there are a lot of things you might not understand since you have 50 total main space edit where your first edit was a week ago. I understand your good faith and appreciate your wrote to the other editor that is the reason why I stated my commented there. No all editors understand the Wikipeida guidelines and even when consensus agreed is agreed it might not fit the Wikipedia guidelines for they dont know/understand the guidelines. (1) Neutral point of view - "under her leadership do enhance the subject value and that is considered "peacocking" which is not neutral point of view and promote the value of the subject, as how would one knows it is all here afford that the company won the award/recognition? (2) the two sources your provided (1) engardearts is considered not independent source is not Pindependent to the subject and also not reliable for it is the company website and not from a major newspaper with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy ; and time out is not a reliable source either and I nominated the article to be AfDed. I removed the unsourced sentences and even with the 2 sources left, there are still not reliable sources. (3) If the there is spelling mistake or inaccuracy about the award (as long as it is supported by the source) then you are welcome to copyedit it. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 07:00, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- If you look closely at the edit history you will see the the sentences to which you are referring are ones I did not put in or even alter. The only things I did to the article were to change the sentences about the mission to correct the fact that it was factually wrong and add the sentence about awards. As such I would appreciate you taking the note off my page. However I am not going to touch her page again as clearly you disagree with me and seem to be policing my work. However I thought you'd want to know that you spelled Anne Hamburger's name wrong in the changes you made. I have also contested your listing the page to be deleted as I think you are being very hasty in saying this, just because the current article is not well sourced does not mean she is not notable and does not have many verifiable independent mentions. She does the five I listed are just the top ones that came up. I don't think female entries should be listed for deletion without due diligence. KNY22 (talk) 07:18, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- KNY22 When you add mission of a company that is promo. You can contest as you please if you can give support of evident the subject is notable as per Wikipedia guidelines. Cassiopeia talk 07:22, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- I did not ADD the mission it was already there I CORRECTED it. KNY22 (talk) 07:24, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- KNY22 OK, next time when you see mission in any thing due with a company or a person remove it from the article instead of copyediting it. I understand your frustration, and I am not here to against you but to help you and provide you info of Wikipedia guard lines. To learn about Wikipedia do take a very long time. I remember I sat down in front of my computer for 6 weeks most nights just reading about the guidelines and let alone know how to apply it. All of us going through this. The messages on your talk page is to educate you about the guidelines. And lastly, everyone makes mistakes including I and we just learn from it. Stay safe. - I did not ADD the mission it was already there I CORRECTED it. KNY22 (talk) 07:24, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- KNY22 When you add mission of a company that is promo. You can contest as you please if you can give support of evident the subject is notable as per Wikipedia guidelines. Cassiopeia talk 07:22, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
Correction of the list of candidates so that it is in fact in alphabetical order ie Haggar, Holland, Kotsvoy. Addition of Greens candidate's name. Improved wording for candidate's profession
Hello, I received a message that my edit was removed because I did not cite a source. My edit was correcting the alphabetical order of a list of names. The page states that the list is in alphabetical order but it is not. There are 3 names listed in the order: Kotsvoy, Holland and Haggar. Alphabetically it should be Haggar, Holland, Kotsvoy. This should not require a source. It is the alphabet.(Kaylenesmith 22/01/22)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaylenesmith (talk • contribs) 8:00, January 22, 2022 (UTC)

Regarding your reverts
The article 2009 in Bellator MMA says in its first sentence: 2009 in Bellator MMA was the first installment of the Bellator Fighting Championships (Bellator FC)-produced series
. Something that runs yearly as part of a wider-series is a sub-topic of the wider series. On Wikipedia, we use {{Infobox television}} for the series-level page and {{Infobox television season}} for the the yearly pages. Can you explain why in your opinion it should use {{Infobox television}} instead? Gonnym (talk) 10:46, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- Gonnym Good day. Thank you for the message. Year in Bellator MMA is not a television series nor yearly. The page recorded the events held in that particular year. To me is should not be using television infobox. There is a discussion going on and when editors join the discussion and if different infoboxis need, we will change it. Saladillo Partido
I just changed the name of the county to Saladillo (the name used in other languages, and the article name itself and in every other place) from Saladildo, which was an old bandalism from 2015.

- 181.170.39.127, Hi thank you for the message above. Tehe article name is Saladillo Partido so, pls do not change the name of the article in the lead (intro section). If the name has already changed in reality, you need to provide multiple sources (independent and reliable) to support your claim and provide the sources (newspapers) in the article talk page (sources can be in any languages) and request for the article name change then the lead section of the article can also be change. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 01:08, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
The correction I first made was changing it from Saladildo to Saladildo, this correction was reversed back to Saladildo.
But the city was never named Saladildo, the only instance of it being called Saladildo is this very Wikipedia article and it started in 2015 as seen here [link].
- Saladillo Partido, as listed in Buenos Aires Province's Supreme Court website, appears as Saladillo, not Saladildo.
- Saladillo, county/city website, appears as Saladillo, not Saladildo.

The Donna Reed Show
I'm a classic TV buff and have been watching episodes of The Donna Reed Show for an article I intend to write. I have been making notes and have been adding them to the Wikipedia page about the show.
