You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a certain number of days and made a certain number of edits.
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (47.146.63.87) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).

August 2019
[edit]Hello, I'm Amckern. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Wikipedia:Reference desk/Science, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Amckern (talk) 09:56, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
DVD company that makes and sells Region-2 DVDs
[edit]The first 2 seasons of the 1994 Fox series Party of Five had been released on region 2 only, while all the seasons were released on regions 1 and 4. So I asked Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to release the last 4 seasons or the complete series on region 2 but they haven't replied in days. 86.131.107.28 (talk) 20:21, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
- If they reply at all it's going to be some automated form response. They're not going to start production because one person wants something. Just import the rest of the seasons and get a region 1 or region-free player. Note, if you have a computer with a DVD drive, it should be able to play the DVDs, but you might have to change the region set in the drive. This can be done (do a Web search for how), but your drive might let you do this only a fixed number of times. --47.146.63.87 (talk) 22:48, 8 January 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that link -- I did about a bazillion of those links in a row yesterday, and I thought I checked every one, but must have missed a typo. Much appreciated! - Astrophobe (talk) 04:12, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
Question
[edit]Hi,
Can I please ask you a sterilization/reproduction question on this talk page of yours?
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
