Mr. and Mrs. Grips and The Noided Boys are a duo of vocalists Stefan Burnett (also known as MC Ride and Sarah Midro Perri (also known as Sarah Bonito accompanied by instrumentals from Zach, Andy, Gus (February 2019-March 2019, April 2019-Present), and Jamie. The collective is known for creating the genre post-harcore experimental hip-hop.

History

Formation

In February 2019, Stefan Burnett of Death Grips and Sarah Midori Perry of Kero Kero Bonito came in contact while browsing their fan communities on Reddit. The two had noticed that a majority of their fan bases participated in the others and decided that a collaboration was in order. Members of Death Grips and Kero Kero met in high-rise condominium built on the site of the former Pet Sounds Recording Studio and began working.

The Bonito Store

The newly formed band began to brainstorm ideas by mixing their debut albums, The Money Store and Bonito Generation, into a free mixtape known widely as "The Bonito Store". Released on February 14, 2018, to rave reviews from Pitchfork and TheNeedleDrop, the mixtape combined the distinct vocal styles of Stefan and Sarah to create a new genre, post-hardcore experimental hip-hop.

The Incident

During the production of their first studio album tensions arose after Andy Morin took and ate Gus Lobban's peanutbutter & jelly sandwich from the group's collective mini-fridge. Gus left the artist collective in March of 2019 but rejoined in April of 2019 after being forced to work a part-time job at Tesco to pay for rent and food.
