Yoursfsu was founded on October 18, 2014, by Jack Son with his classmates and fellow fellow University student Tony Lin and Wu Su Kay.The founders had limited the website's membership to California first, but they have been expanding it to colleges in all university students. Yoursfsu now allows anyone to become a registered user of the website.

After registering to use the site, users may create a personal profile, add any textbooks the users want to add, and student's exchange messages each other when they find textbooks they need for classes.Users may interact each other by using facebook or other social networking services which users can show with textbooks information.
