Early life
[edit]Tom Knox (the eldest of 7 siblings) was born in Los Angeles, California the day Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan[2]. Knox attended Anaheim High School and sang in the choir[3].
Early Career
[edit]Tom began singing with the Dapper Dans at Disneyland in 1965 [4] This led to a repeating guest appearance on the television show "Mickie Finns" [5]
Hollywood

Knox befriended David Paich. Marty Paich worked with Julie London. London worked with the Dapper Dans. This led to Knox meeting and becoming friends with Marty's son David Paich. Paich was a member of a new band Toto. Knox has engineer credits on the first 6 Toto albums[7]
He was also the audio engineer for numerous major music acts including Smokey Robinson, Seals & Croft, Don Henley, The Jacksons, Hall and Oats, Randy Travis, Randy Newman, Diana Ross, Rickie Lee Jones among others.[8]
Marty Paich Orchestrated and David wrote most of the music for the Dune soundtrack[9] worked on black rain soundtrack

[edit]He was married to Dora Wallen with whom he had a son, Donald and a daughter, Jennifer.
Death
[edit]On November 5th 2017, Knox died at his home in San Marcos, California.[12]
