),Chinese painting painter, good at creating landscape paintings, flower and bird paintings. Li was taught by famous teachers such as Zheng Fuxuan, Wang Lanruo, Liu Changchao, Lin Fengsu and Jao Tsung-i. He is also a contemporary representative of the deep exploration and application of ancient paintings.[1]。He is a devout believer in Buddhism and particularly admires Buddhist Zen thought.[2]

Li is currently the founding director of the Chinese Painting Society, a distinguished researcher at the Guangzhou Painting Academy, the executive director of the Guangdong Chinese Painting Society, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, and the academic host of Shenzhen Shugutang.[3]

Biography

Li Zhaodong was born in Shantou, Guangdong in 1954 into a calligraphy and painting family. He studied glyph structure and pen and ink composition with his father Li Yongzhi since he was a child. Due to his outstanding talent, he was hailed as a "child prodigy" along with Fang Chuxiong and Zhuang Xiaojian.[5][6]

Shanghai Enlightenment

In 1962, eight-year-old Li Zhaodong began to attract media attention. His calligraphy works have been published in "Nanfang Daily", "Wenhui Daily", "Yangcheng Evening News", etc., and he was interviewed by China Central Television. The Pearl River Film Studio specially filmed the documentary "Little Calligrapher-Li Zhaodong".[7]
