Nice work Vegaswikian on collecting the remaining links for wilderness areas in Nevada. You thanked me on my talk page for a minor cleanup I did afterward. But you did by far more work collecting all of it. So here's some recognition for you too. Ikluft (talk) 06:29, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted an edit which changed the navbox to a non-standard behavior of always being collapsed, and put it back to autocollapse. This has been brought up with other navboxes before. The problem with making one navbox always collapsed is that it looks inconsistent with the standard behavior across Wikipedia. It's a fact of life that navboxes are increasing navigability between related pages. Sometimes there's a concern that a large navbox is too large a portion of a small page - but over the long term those pages can and will be expanded. That problem will solve itself over time - have some patience. It's best to keep consistent behavior. Besides, the autocollapse behavior will make navboxes collapse when there's more than one of them on one page. Ikluft (talk) 21:26, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have a problem with the change you reverted. When an navbox is large, I consider the collapsed option as a good solution. I have a much large concern with navboxes that are forced to not collapse. If this is going to be a survey I'd say go with collapsed. I don't consider this to be non-standard behavior in any way.
