Proposed merge

[edit]

I proposed that the article The Objectivist Newsletter be merged to this one. Both articles are stubs and will likely remain so, and they cover closely-related topics. We don't typically maintain separate articles for publications which change title/format, even very notable ones such as The Manchester Guardian/The Guardian. Thoughts? I agree that the two articles should be merged. An announcement in the October 1965 issue of the Newsletter states that its success "has permitted us to enlarge it and to adopt a magazine format." So it's clearly intended to be the same magazine. The continuity between the two is also shown by a number of details:
  • Same editors, publishers and managing editor, working in the same offices.
  • Same subscribers. The announcement says that subscriptions would be carried over. The subscription price didn't even change.
  • The volume numbering for The Objectivist picked up where The Objectivist Newsletter stopped.
I'd suggest that The Objectivist Newsletter redirect to The Objectivist for ease of linking and searching, but there's no significant reason to have two distinct articles. --RL0919 (talk) 00:34, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
