Given your apparent conflict of interest, you should probably not be adding anything substantive to the article. If you wish to make a case for notability, I suggest listing specific sources here on the talk page. --Nat Gertler (talk) 14:43, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@NatGertler: Thanks for explaining how to handle this at User_talk:Vladimir_Alexiev#Managing_a_conflict_of_interest! It's my first time contributing significantly to WP (while I've contributed a lot to WD), so I appreciate your suggestions and certainly want to avoid any "editorial wars". I added the "connected contributor" template for 3 Ontotext people on top of this page (@Kiryakov ak and MilenY:)
About notability: please clarify your suggestion to "list specific sources" as to quantity and importance. How many sources and of what sort of importance do we need to list? Eg I'm sure this News piece is important enough: "Ontotext's GraphDB Powers Springer Nature's New Linked Open Data ...", how many like this should I pick?
I agree that we 3 Ontotext people shouldn't edit directly and should only use "request edit" in this page. Could you help us with the editorial process, i.e. implement the edits after your independent verification?
There is no fixed number of items that is required to meet notability standards; scale and placement, and nature of the piece matter.
Despite your certainty, "Ontotext's GraphDB Powers Springer Nature's New Linked Open Data" counts not at all to your notability. That piece is a press release, issued by your company. If you look at our guidelines on notability for corporations, you'll see that we are looking for independent sources, and that this excludes "press releases, press kits, or similar public relations materials" and "any material which is substantially based on such press releases even if published by independent sources (churnalism),"
While I will keep this article on my watchlist, my life is full enough that I am not going to commit to reviewing all your suggested edits at this time. --Nat Gertler (talk) 10:54, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ontotext is only notable for this product and another, and merging them together would give the necessary context to things. Mainly, Ontotext GraphDB does not need its own article. Mrfoogles (talk) 16:37, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
