[edit]Does Barnes & Noble count as a reliable source for which of Covington's books are bestsellers for them: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/%22H.%20A.%20Covington%22?Ntk=P_key_Contributor_List&Ns=P_Sales_Rank&Ntx=mode+matchall ?
Should the sentence be amended to cite a similar result at every major online bookseller that offers his books?
Can an experienced Wikipedian help with this?
- An academic source would be better. I will try to find one. 2600:1012:B102:58C5:0:4A:6A2B:4F01 (talk) 02:35, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
- This is a good article that should meet RS standards and talks about the NW Quintent. I can't format it now due to technical limitations, but someone else can have a go at adding it.

What to do about editors who restore misinformation?
[edit]It is not true that Harold Covington ever operated a blog specifically devoted to Holocaust Denial. Whoever posted this claim relies on a source that does not even say it. Read the source carefully!
The "Ministry of Truth" blog is operated by somebody calling himself Winston Smith, but it was not Harold Covington. Metapedia indicates that the "Winston Smith" who operates Ministry of Truth also calls himself Black Rabbit of Inle. This is a well known participant in the CODOH forum who resides in the UK. This Winston Smith is definitely not Harold Covington.
Covington's blogs were well known: Down With Jugears.blogspot.com and NorthwestFront.org. Neither is specifically devoted to Holocaust Denial.
In fact, Covington used the pseudonym Winston Smith for his Resistance newsletter in the 1990s. I am very familiar with Covington and am not aware of any instance of his using Winston Smith online.
People who don't know anything about the subject, please stop editing!

- I'm not sure what your complaint is about. Are you splitting hairs by stating that the blog was not specifically about Holocaust denial (i.e. it included other topics), or are you saying that the Ministry of Truth blog was not ran/authored by Covington?
I am conducting an in depth study of Covington, so I have an academic interest in this question - and you present yourself as someone who knows the truth. Yes, I am very interest in what you might have to say Your Buddy Fred Lewis. I look forward to your clarification. 47.137.184.131 (talk) 05:31, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
- He was claiming that MoT blog was not authored by Covington, and that none of Covington's online blogs were specifically devoted to Holocaust denial. Garbagetime (talk) 00:26, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

Hinckley
[edit]Does anyone know whether Hinckley was alleged to be a member of the American Nazi Party or the National Socialist Party of America?
The link mentions "Nazi Party of America" which may have just been their way of shortening (and possibly sensationalizing) NSPA.
Right now it is vague. I'd like to clarify the point. 2600:1012:B1CC:C3DC:0:27:5948:F201 (talk) 05:20, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- Never mind. I that the link before that makes it clear that it is the NSPA being referred to. 2600:1012:B1CC:C3DC:0:27:5948:F201 (talk) 06:26, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
Last Sentence in Political Activies section
[edit]Currently reads:
"Towards the end of his life, Covington created a group that wanted a white ethnostate in the Pacific Northwest."
While this is true, it is already covered in the lede:
"He advocated the creation of an "Aryan homeland" in the Pacific Northwest (known as the Northwest Territorial Imperative) and was the founder of the Northwest Front (NF), a white separatist political movement."
Furthermore, the link does not reflect the content - it is an announcement of his death, not a description of the Northwest Front's political aims.
Also, there is precedent in the editing history of this article for not using the Northwest Front website because it does not meat RS criteria.
The last sentence is superfluous, awkwardly worded, and ruins the flow/tone of the article + the source is not RS.
It should be removed and stay removed. 2600:1012:B13D:AA2C:0:8:5E68:401 (talk) 02:11, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- I will try the suggested merge, keeping the link, though I don't think it reflects content. Essentially, I will be modifying the lead to describe the Northwest Front's objectives. 2600:1012:B13D:AA2C:0:8:5E68:401 (talk) 02:16, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that founding the NF is a significant event in his life story, so have re-added it in the body and linked it to the same ref that describes the Northwest novels (cite gives the date of the org. founding). I think that the same article would be a better cite than the one in the lead which goes to an archived article of the NF website for the same reasons above (nonreflective of content and not RS). Incrementation. 2600:1012:B1C1:2896:0:12:9838:7F01 (talk) 22:36, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
