The name of a fansite that is irrelevant to the actual game and not mentioned in the article. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 13:54, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- Keep. Serenes Forest is incredibly important to many in the community and redirects are WP:CHEAP. Useful navigational tool. –MJL ‐Talk‐☖ 22:05, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- My argument isn't that it is not important, but that there is nowhere sensible for it to point to. If it cannot be an article, it should be deleted.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 01:25, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
- From a quick Google search for Serenes Forest, it seems that it isn't just limited to covering this one game but the Fire Emblem series as a whole. Still not sure it'd be worth keeping as a redirect (to this page or any page related to Fire Emblem) though. Sakura CarteletTalk 06:00, 25 August 2019 (UTC)

- Fire EMblem → Fire Emblem (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Unlikely typo for a game title. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 10:36, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- This kind of thing would open up a WP:PANDORA's box if it was a valid miscapitalization. Fire EmBlem, Fire EmbLem, etc. R from miscapitalization is, IMO, geared more towards things like "Fire emblem".ZXCVBNM (TALK) 01:38, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Steel1943 (talk) 22:59, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- Delete, not a particularly likely or unique typo. The main functions of {{R from miscapitalization}} are aiding searches and maintaining links; this redirect fails in both regards as 22 views per year does not imply significant utility and there are no incoming links. ComplexRational (talk) 07:27, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
- Keep, harmless {{R from miscapitalization}}. There is no evidence that this redirect existing has encouraged the creation of other such redirects, nor why that would be a bad thing if it did. -- Tavix (talk) 16:10, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
- Delete. Not a likely or natural capitalization error. {{R from miscapitalisation}} is not a license to keep any old thing. PC78 (talk) 01:33, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Keep. Harmless miscapitalization that results from one of the more common miscapitalization errors (i.e. still holding shift after a properly capitalized results in the second also being capitalized). ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 06:21, 26 August 2019 (UTC)

- Comment: I've WP:BOLDly retargeted the page per the above user's suggestion. Sakura CarteletTalk 06:07, 25 August 2019 (UTC)

- Center for Brain and Cognition → V. S. Ramachandran (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
This redirect has two problems: the first is that it's pointing at the director of the UCSD Center for Brain and Cognition, as opposed to the center itself (article does not exist) or its parent organization (UCSD). The second is that there is at least one other such-titled center of roughly equal prominence, the CBC at UPF Barcelona. I would suggest that as neither of these centers has articles right now, this should be converted to a redlink for lack of a clearly suitable target. signed, Rosguill talk 19:30, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
- I was unaware of the Barcelona center when I created the redirect page. The CBC at UCSD is essentially VS Ramachandran's research group. Neither of the two CBCs seems to be an "official" research center of its university. Neither university article mentions its CBC. I don't see enough news coverage for either to make it notable enough for a standalone article. Perhaps a disambiguation page that mentions both CBCs and includes some hyperlinks would be better than a simple redirect? HouseOfChange (talk) 01:58, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hm, if it's really the case that neither center is notable at all and that the UCSD CBC is just Ramachandran's work group, then maybe leaving it as is is the best option. signed, Rosguill talk 02:01, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- As for its being Ramachandran's work group, there is a very funny description of a meeting there near the end of the 2009 New Yorker profile of him. I searched en-wiki for the term, and several articles mention the UCSD CBC, including the lead section of VS Ramachandran. So I would support leaving the redirect. - Upper Village → Forest Hill, Toronto (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Ambiguous term, based on internet search results the most well-known "Upper Village" is in Whistler, BC, but it's also a moniker used in several other locations. I would suggest deletion and letting the search engine do its work due to the lack of a clear primary target. signed, Rosguill talk 22:55, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- Perhaps create a disambiguation page? Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 01:19, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
- I considered that, but it is further complicated by the fact that "Upper Village" is often merely a subtopic of an actual article--we don't have much in the way of full articles on these subjects (and at least a few seem to be missing entirely). My advocating for deletion is more on the principle of not surprising people looking for one of these places by dropping them in an article that is only marginally even about the other ones. signed, Rosguill talk 02:23, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

Would cosmogenic nuclide be a more appropriate target? The current redirect is to a section with a hatnote pointing to that article, and I am not aware of another possible primary topic for the term cosmogenic (at least in this broad context). ComplexRational (talk) 18:05, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
- Delete as overly vague. The search engine results when a person types in "cosmogenic" would be more helpful.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 07:35, 7 August 2019 (UTC)
- Retarget to cosmogenic nuclide. It is a fairly complete article on the topic and it is hard to see cosmogenic wanting to be anywhere else. Although we could probably manage without it, there isn't really any strong reason to delete the redirect; it doesn't meet any of the main reasons to delete. Lithopsian (talk) 14:32, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

- Delete. People who speak Russian likely won't make this typo, and people who don't speak Russian will likely come here via copy/paste. Even if they come here by entering the letters individually, they'll probably use something like Character Map or a list of Russian letters, and they'll copy letters one-by-one, and if they're taking the effort to do that, they'll notice if they make a mistake, since е and э are quite different, unlike э and з, or ш and щ. Either way, it's highly unlikely that anglophones will make this mistake. Nyttend (talk) 02:12, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

- Delete as an unlikely typo. There are around 15 views per year, which isn't enough to suggest that it has greater utility than catching 15 random mistakes that everyone makes now and then. ComplexRational (talk) 20:04, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- Delete≈ while I don’t think this 12 year old redirect had opened any form of Pandora’s Box it is highly unlikely.--64.229.166.98 (talk) 18:32, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

- Keep Harmless {{R from miscapitalization}}. No one has provided evidence that this redirect has opened a "Pandora's box" in its 12 year existence, nor how that would be a bad thing if that did occur. -- Tavix (talk) 16:05, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
- I personally don't think Pandora's Box was opened either, but this is completely unnecessary, Wikipedia search capabilities render it useless. James-the-Charizard (talk) 21:27, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

The name of the show is "Eurovision Asia Song Contest" with the colloquial initilism "EASC". The contest has never been officially titled "Eurovision Song Contest Asia" nor has the initialism "ESCA" ben used. Both are unlikely search terms, especially in combination with years the contest will not take place in. Lordtobi (✉) 18:56, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

The Solomon Islands do not (and can not) participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. The country intends to take part in the spin-off show Eurovision Asia Song Contest (which has yet to happen), but a separate redirect for that exists, making this redirect wrong and misleading. A stock standard "normal villager" character who isn't even a major character of the game. Not mentioned in the target page, overly crufty. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 05:26, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- Delete all as game cruft without mentions in the target article. Quick Internet searches show no descriptions of these characters besides in fan wikis/forums, making it (at least seemingly) impossible to add any properly sourced mentions. Geolodus (talk) 14:09, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- Delete These are just three villager characters among hundreds in the series. If we had a list of Animal Crossing characters, they wouldn't be in the list. Other characters have roles in gameplay or plot, but these villagers do not. Reach Out to the Truth 01:50, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

The disambiguation doesn't make much sense anymore as it has had a real title for a decade. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 03:42, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- Keep as harmless, unambiguous, and a clear {{R avoided double redirect}} for Animal Crossing Wii. Steel1943 (talk) 00:34, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
- The redirect is completely malformed. (working title) is not a disambiguation, it's a description. For such blatant errors in disambiguation, they shouldn't remain clogging things up.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 02:40, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
- ...But it's not "malformed". For one, {{R from working title}} exists (though it a redirect itself), and also, doing a search in Wikipedia for the phrase "working title" returns a good amount of redirects ending with "(working title)", meaning it's quite an accepted disambiguation phrase used quite often. Steel1943 (talk) 03:42, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, I guess you are right in that it could be a disambiguation. However... there is no proof that it was an actual, official working title and not a fan created nickname.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 06:19, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

- Delete. This is one of those that I would put in the "probably only makes sense temporarily" category. Now that there is an official name for the game, it doesn't make sense to keep a redirect that is disambiguated this way, and I can't imagine this being searched. -- Tavix (talk) 14:38, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
