Jeopardy! theme music (2nd nomination)
[edit]AfDs for this article:
- Jeopardy! theme music (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View log · Stats)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
This article contains much useless trivia, fancruft, original research, and unnecessary details which cannot be reliably sourced in any way. I have merged any and all encyclopedic or useful information from this article into the "Theme music" section of the main Jeopardy! article, as I feel that this article contains too much unnecessary detail and does not appear to be encyclopedic. -- Seth Allen (discussion/contributions) Friday, October 5, 2012, 17:34 UTC.

- It's what should be done with the little bit of sourced content in this article. What is merge to Jeopardy!? Most of this is unsourced yammering and OR, with little verifiable content. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 18:31, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- What is Keep? Described in an article in The Atlantic as "one of the most iconic tunes in television history", this article about a game show theme song clearly meets the Wikipedia criteria for notability? Alansohn (talk) 19:40, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - That may be THAT editors opinion, but are there multiple sources to back that claim up? from what I can find the tune didn't even make the top 100 list according to Ranker.com. Even the notion that it won an award is suspect, when it is disclosed that the year it won, was the first year of those awards. Exit2DOS • Ctrl • Alt • Del 21:59, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge to the article on the program. Not every aspect of a TV show needs a stand-alone article, even if it got 3 sentences in Merve Griffin's obituary. ( Not that it influenced my vote, but own childhood version of the never-heard lyrics started: "Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? Goldilocks and Klem Kadiddlehopper," had a forgotten phrase in the middle, and ended with "Tip me over and pour me out." since the ending of this song sounds like the ending of "I'm a Little Teapot." This has been a lifelong earworm whenever I've chanced to watch the show. (Perhaps it will be now for others as well). Edison (talk) 19:51, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Summarize and Merge largely unreferenced and original research. Does not meet the WP:GNG quantitatively: the coverage establishes that it's popular, and how it was created. But is there really anything reliable to say about it beyond that? This should be reduced to a stub and then merged into the main jeopardy article. - Merge ACMEWikiNet (talk) 15:01, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge, mostly per Vcessayist. That is, I'm good with losing the WP:OR material and having the rest placed in the theme's section within the main Jeopardy! article. Gongshow Talk 06:17, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. It's quite well-known and recognizable, and there seems to be material for the article. Everyking (talk) 16:02, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge to Jeopardy! per above. As said, copious amounts of OR and trivia are present that should be removed, and there is a lack of reliable sources to show that the theme song is independently notable from the show it originates from.Rorshacma (talk) 17:17, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
