Gould (who was using it as part of his transcontinental), St. Louis Union Trust Company, et al.; to connect Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad at Zanesville to the West Virginia Central and Pittsburg Railway at Belington; bought by P&LE in 1905; 1/4 each sold to B&O and PCo in 1906
- Zanesville, Marietta and Parkersburg Railroad 1901-12-11, Zanesville to Ohio River near Marietta (changed to Belpre and then Little Hocking in 1902); no line completed
- Marietta, Columbus and Cleveland Railroad 1900-10-31, acquired 1902, about 13 mi to be used as part of the main line; Toledo and Ohio Central Railway began operating between Palos and Marietta in 1908; sold to bondholders in 1908
