Cyriac Pappachan (born 9 November 1982) is a consultant infertility specialist and laparoscopic surgeon based in Kerala. They were included in the Asia Book of Records after successfully performing laparoscopic surgery (keyhole surgery) to remove a uterus weighing 4.420 kg with multiple fibroid tumors.[1][failed verification][2][3][4]
Early life and education
[edit]Pappachan was born on November 9, 1982 in Kattanam, Pallickal panchayat, Alappuzha. He received his secondary education at Mount Bethany English Medium High School in Mylapra, Pathanamthitta. MBBS from Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Bijapur, Karnataka, in the year 2009. In 2012, He received an MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Annamalai University in Tamil Nadu. His mentor was Dr. Biswajith Chakraverty, who was a renowned teacher, guide, and philosopher. Fellowship in Minimal Invasive Surgery Gynecology from Rajiv Gandhi University, Bangalore, in 2013, under Dr. B. Ramesh, who is a world-famous laparoscopic surgeon. He took a Masters in reproductive medicine at NHS Homerton and a London Diploma in Advanced Gynecological Endoscopy at CICE, France. The World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons, New Delhi, awarded him a fellowship and diploma in minimal access surgery.[5][failed verification]
