Saunil Daru^[1] (born on 2nd October, Mumbai, Maharashtra) is an Indian stage n television artist. He is a veteran actor of Gujarati theatre.

Early Life

Saunil was born in a Gujarati family. He studied from Maneekji Cooper, Mumbai and completed his higher education from University of Mumbai. He did his diploma in theater from Bhartiya Natya Sheekshapeeth under Mr. Giresh Desai.

Career

Saunil Daru's first play on stage was a one act play called Majnu Park. Then he did various intercollegiate competitions in which he did plays named Badhu naam ma j che bhai, Chausat passa ni takkar and Vishram Dhaam ,a play in which he acted was one of the most popular play and it won maximum awards.

He even did a 4 month course at Kishore Namit acting class. His first commercial play was Olkhan, written by Shailesh Dave and was revived in 2000. Then he did play named Janamakshar ma jalsa che. In play Ame Baraf Na Pankhi as a doctor. Then, he did a play named Chupaj rehjo champaklal. He performed as Timir in play named Patta Ni Jod, a boy who is having mental illness. He even did play named Pallavi Bani parvati as Ashish. His role as a criminal in play Ame Tame Ne ratanyo.

In 2000 he started assisting a director Mukul Abhyankar on television. He worked with him for 4 years. He even directed a talk show named FACES hosted by Gautam Rajadhyaksh. He did TV Shows like THRILLER AT 10 and STAR BEST SELLERS. In 2005, he played a short role in Hindi television show Baa Bahu aur Baby as Pritam.

Then he even did plays named Lali Leela, Lafra Sadan, Chitrela Morla Na Tahuka, Chor na haath ma chavi and Muktidham. He even did a play named Kishen vs Kanhaiya with Actor Paresh Rawal. He played the role of a gyenecologist in play Baa Ne Gher Babo Avyo. In play, Jantar Mantar as Dr. Vyas. He played the role of Shyam in his play Ek Savariyo Bijo Bavariyo. He performed as Pratham in a comedy play Prem karta Punchar Padyu. His play named Toh Rehje Mara Vagar was also a hit.

In play, Pappu Pass Thai Gayo as kukul. He played the role of senior inspector in play named Zero Bani Gayo Hero. He played the role in play Harakh Padudi Hansa as Kuber. His work in a play named No Exit is mind blowing. He had played a short role in of a junkyard person in play Pappa Avaj Hoi Che.

In 2016, he worked in play Nas Nas Ma Khunas. In 2017, his other play named Baa Mari Motherindia came, where he played the role of Shyam, a boy who takes care of his ill mother. This play was nominated for the best play and Saunil Daru was nominated for the best supporting character. In 2018, he is doing a play named Akkal Badi ke Cash.

Saunil Daru even did a TATA tea commercial ad on television.

Saunil Daru even directed a short movie named Explosives "FOR HIRE".

Saunil Daru has written a Gujarati show named pati thayo e pati gayo and has even written another Gujarati show named Preet Piyu ne Pannaben. And this days his other show named savaaj is on air on Colors Gujarati.
