English: Bethesda, Md. (July 30, 2005) - President George W. Bush and National Naval Medical Center Commander, Rear Adm. Known as the "President's Hospital," National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., has been the historical site of all presidential physicals since 1942. Staffed with more than 4,500 military and civilian personnel, the hospital not only cares for presidents, but also Vice Presidents, members of Congress, and Justices of the Supreme Court. The hospital's primary mission is the assured readiness and care of the uniformed services and their families. As one of the biggest military medical centers on the East Coast, National Naval Medical Center receives more than 500,000 patient visits a year and delivers more than 2,000 babies annually.
