There is athree-foot passage on the starboard side of the New York, extend-ing the entire length of the boat, making means of communicationfrom the galley to the saloons, forward and aft, and to the pilotsrooms easy in the roughest weather. These rooms, forward and aft, have two berths in each. The engineers rooms are forward of theforward saloon, with quarters for the firemen adjoining. The restof the crew are berthed in the forecastle.
