Bukan County (Persian: شهرستان بوکان) is in West Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Bukan.[3]
Demographics

[edit]The county is mostly populated by Shafi'i Kurds who speak Sorani.[4]
Population
[edit]At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 202,637 in 42,313 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 224,628 people in 56,105 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 251,409 in 74,250 households.[2]
