Speedy deletion nomination of Memorial JK

Hello ArionEstar,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Memorial JK for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Trivialist (talk) 16:35, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bendegó meteorite

Hi ArionEstar,

I'm not sure if this is the right method, but on the entry on the meteorite where you say it's believed lost in the fire I was wondering if it actually would be since it is mainly iron and it's doubtful a basic building fire will burn hot enough long enough to melt iron.

Thank you,

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Adelaide Chiozzo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.

Snarky comments about PotY in Jimbo's happy birthday message

Hey there. Just wondering why you feel this comment is appropriate? Jimbo has nothing to do with PotY or its technical problems, so it seems inappropriate to try to bring down Jimbo's happy birthday vibe with your remarks. Perhaps it'd make more sense to contain your comments to the appropriate section? Thanks. –Novem Linguae (talk) 06:53, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Novem Linguae: nothing to do? Okay, so stop to ask for money if the foundation cannot maintain its main competition. Just saying. ArionStar (talk) 10:12, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps there are better strategies of lobbying for the WMF than being rude to a board member on his birthday. –Novem Linguae (talk) 11:20, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Polite language in requests seems better, and ArionStar, you've already brought the plight of POTY to Jimbo's and others' attention without having to kick a man on his birthday. Not cool. If I were an admin I'd put a 24-hour trout-like ban on you for that one. But, as I said at the Commons talk page, thanks for shaking some life into rescuing this important contest. Another point, I also didn't understand why you consider Commons in competition or "main competition" with Wikipedia (or were you referring to some other site?). Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 13:05, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikimedia Foundation was founded by Jimmy; Commons belongs to WMF; POTY belongs to Commons; POTY engages all WMF users. ArionStar (talk) 13:26, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed (see my recent comments at the POTY 2023 talk page, which I was brought to by your lobbying at Jimbo's page). And yes, support of Jimbo to having WMF personnel come in to save the thing, if that's what it takes, is important and maybe essential. But kicking sand in his face on his birthday (and getting some of the sand in the cake), not cool, so on that you went a little overboard (as well as going overboard on the gloom and doom). You are enthusiastic about saving POTY, very commendable and deserving of applause, so thanks again! Randy Kryn (talk) 13:37, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mariana dam disaster, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Federal Supreme Court. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

About Minas Gerais road crash

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I moved Minas Gerais road crash to draftspace because I found it as a single unsourced sentence. You can find it here. Best regards, QwertyForest (talk) 16:37, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@QwertyForest: help me to improve the article. ArionStar (talk) 16:39, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a basic outline and some sources to help you. I'll also look for some WikiProjects that may be interested in helping with this topic. QwertyForest (talk) 16:51, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

About your move

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Minas Gerais road crash a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Minas Gerais road crash. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. QwertyForest (talk) 20:31, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Minas Gerais road crash, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page G1.

About edit summaries

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! QwertyForest (talk) 08:42, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
