Are instruction manuals a reliable source?
In Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not it is stated that Wikipedia is not a game manual or instruction booklet. I guess it is alright for the plot. But I mean, this looks lake a circular reference: the information in this article about the game comes from the references in the game such as text and the game itself makes the article relevant. Bokoblins mentioned under 'races' and 'creatures'
Since the Bokoblins are already extensively covered in the 'races' section, I'd argue that the Bokoblin description in the 'creatures' section is redundant and should therefore be removed. Does anyone disagree with this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarvsupreme (talk • contribs) 18:09, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

Requested move 15 July 2019

Universe of The Legend of Zelda → Hyrule – Hyrule was the original name for the article, and its move to "Universe of The Legend of Zelda" is not only less WP:CONCISE but allowed for the addition of large amounts of fictional cruft and the scope of the article becoming too big. Similar to Spira (Final Fantasy X) a rename would allow the article to be categorized under fictional locations while still explaining the mythos and recurring elements. Other game specific worlds like Termina or the Dark World can probably be better explained in their respective articles. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 06:21, 15 July 2019 (UTC)--Relisting. Steven Crossin Help resolve disputes! 17:21, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
- Opppose. It doesn't just list things in Hyrule but other worlds as well Universe_of_The_Legend_of_Zelda#Other_worlds. All universe articles start with "universe of" in their title. Dream Focus 19:17, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not Wikia and is not under a requirement to list every single parallel world in a Zelda game. What complicates things is that they are not even in the same "universe" since Zelda has multiple timelines and universes. What I am suggesting is that the article focus on Hyrule the place, across universes, and if Termina is independently notable, let an article be created about it.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 04:53, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
- I am talking about a fictional universe not a universe. Dream Focus 10:36, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. The Legend of Zelda games do not always take place in Hyrule. Steel1943 (talk) 19:11, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

from moblin page there is a fictional reference and link to the Zelda Moblin from the mobile linux page
Is moblin a fictional race? legends of the kobalds etc and other humunculus. Please check out the Montuak Monster and compare it to Moblin — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C51:7001:200:D55E:91AF:2030:68D9 (talk) 14:53, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
Massive trim is necessary
So this is bringing brought up at WT:VG and I have to agree with what's being said there. This page is just far too much cruft. The world of Hyrule and elements like the Tri Force and Master Sword are notable, as well as some of the races but beyond that, most of this stuff is fan-level cruft that is unsourced save to the games or manuals themselves, and that's simply not sufficient to Wikipedia's coverage of fictional topics. Most of the races are simply not notable at all and a list of monster races is a violation of GAMEGUIDE. I'm sure there's probably some better sourcing out there that could expand with secondary coverage, but at this point it needs to build up from bare bones, not try to work downward from what we have now which is far too detailed at a per-game level. Major changes here are needed and unless someone gives reason not to, I'll likely be BOLD in the next few days to start massive trimming here. --Masem (t) 19:52, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
- What I think is that this needs a large reversal of all the 2008 merges that made this massive, heavily crufty super-article. This page should be pared down massively and sent back to its original Hyrule title. All the "enemies" redirects need to be deleted, per the AfD of Recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series, which was already found to be non-notable. The Races in The Legend of Zelda series article could potentially see a recreation, but would have to be largely rewritten. It makes more sense as a separate article, though.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 06:43, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- The state of the Races article before its merge in 2008 was this [1] which was 100% primary sourced. That won't work today at all, period. You can trim each of those race descriptions down to a paragraph at most, and keep it as part of this article, which then still could be moved to Hyrule, a section being "Races" and the variety of races introduced over the games making sense alongside the locations section that already exists (A few minute's search shows a few possible means to at least source this). Potentially that races section could be expanded off, but it should be done only with good secondary coverage, not primary. The Recurring enemies, that still I think can be yanked, barring a source search to see if there's anything sourcable to that. --Masem (t) 07:07, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- This article has the potential to be reworked and viewing the previous comments, I think it would be better as Hyrule presented in a similar format to Mushroom Kingdom. The other lands are not particularly notable. There are sources available that could be used to create a development section. Most of the races could be removed as non-notable and the main features could be trimmed down and sourced. Fieryninja (talk) 21:58, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

Zonai
given the most recent game of the franchise, it is stated that a new race also existed in the Zelda universe the Zonai, although the game depicts them in the time of their near extinction in the past their contributions to the lore of the franchise are significant (given that one of their race Rauru was the first king of Hyrule). 83.32.210.212 (talk) 11:05, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
- We would need to find some coverage in the media to add the Zonai. Fieryninja (talk) 11:52, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
