Please let me know why it is looking like advertising rather than Wikipedia article and let me know where can I improve, any content changes required. so it doesn't seem like that.

Regarding your recent Speedy Delete of a User page

I wanted to ask, am I as a simple user allowed to tag a User page with CSD should it be something as obvious as spam? Or is it better to pass it by Thepenguin9 (talk) 09:27, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thepenguin9, any page can be tagged by any good faith editor. User pages are for people to tell us about their activities on Wikipedia. If it's spam, go ahead and tag as such. If it's not spam, but unrelated to our purposes, tag as WP:NOTWEBHOST Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:36, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thank you for the advice! Thepenguin9 (talk) 09:39, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Upchanges Dear Jimfbleak, you had recently deleted my draft for Upchanges for unambigous and promotion. Hello Jimfbleak, you have recently taken down my Wikipedia page. I think I know the reason as to why, which was the quote I had forgot to cite. For that reason, I went back to edit my page, and I deleted this mistake. Please let me know what else i can to do to fix my page at your earliest convenience. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Victoriareyes19 (talkcontribs) 19:30, 3 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, could you move this to Draft:Otilia (singer) so that I can work on it. 2409:4073:94:6BB9:6935:CB2:1A71:18E1 (talk) 08:37, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2409:4073:94:6BB9:6935:CB2:1A71:18E1, it was actually deleted by Vanamonde93 whom you should make youIr request to. The deletion was a result of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Otilia Bruma so you will have to explain why she is now notable enough for an article here Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:27, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Was it really, Jim? I can't seem to see my name in the logs... In August 2015, when much of this happened, I wasn't even an admin. Vanamonde (Talk) 16:49, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Vanamonde93 this 2017 log is the one I looked at. I protected it because it had been repeatedly created at eg Otilia Brumă and Otilia Bruma, I guess that you looked at the logs of a different incarnation, cheers Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:18, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ah I see, thanks. @ the IP address; I would have to see convincing evidence that you have some substantive sources before moving this title; there's been too many attempts to shoehorn a poor-quality article about this singer into Wikipedia. Vanamonde (Talk) 16:04, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted article userfication

Greetings! An article I worked for was nominated for Speedy Deletion and, eventually, deleted: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Qrator.Radar May I kindly ask you to save the copy from deleted article into my user page for further development and improvement of the article with the help of community? I want to additionally thank you for the detailed commentary you left on the reasons why the submitted article got deleted - it helped me to fully understand the Wikipedia rules and etiquette. Replied on user talk page, copyright text cannot be restored Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:03, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I carefully read through your notices and commentaries - I would work on a stronger and more verifiable article regarding the product, as it is not fully commercial and I think I can prove its notability and importance by providing links to respectable 3rd party sources. Also I wanted to ask you if the copyleft notice placed on the page that is currently copyrighted (Radar F.A.Q. page) would somehow allow use of certain sentences from that page within the article or not? Shapelez (talk) 12:32, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Shapelez, the page is currently tagged © 2020 Radar by Qrator, and I assume that you are suggesting changing that to a PD or CC BY-SA 3.0 Licence. Either way it would need to allow commercial use. With such a licence you could copy from it, but it's obviously not an independent third-party source, and also see Wikipedia is not a manual. It's difficult to see how you can avoid making self-sourced claims about your product. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:19, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I mean swapping the current copyright with the recommended "The text of this web page is available for modification and reuse under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License and the GNU Free Documentation License (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts)" copyleft notice. You are right about difficulty of avoiding self-sourced claims, but I don't see any other way for proving, for example, the fact about established BGP sessions with ISPs as it is a metric available only to the product team. I am not talking about the notability of such an article, as it is a separate matter if I understand it correctly now, after getting more information and could be effectively proven only with the help of a sufficient amount of independent verifiable sources. Shapelez (talk) 13:32, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Shapelez, exactly; but you need to make sure that you can show notability, because otherwise you will be wasting your time. With regard to the content of the copied page, as I said, you can use it, but you need to think carefully about what you say. Much of the text is describing various anomalies and problems, some of which are linked to existing articles. These don't seem particularly specific to your product and presumably could easily be linked to other sources. The problem arises when you talk about what your product is claimed to do, where you need other sources to confirm that, the fact that your company claims something doesn't automatically make it a fact Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:46, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jim, You just deleted this draft on the basis of a copyright issue. I'm not sure if you followed the discussion at DRV, but the claim (with what sounds like strong evidence) is that the copyright issue is that the Wikipedia author shared their draft with the subject who posted it. Apparently there is documentation of that. Would you mind taking a look at [1] and either confirming that you think this is a clear copyright issue (and mentioning something to that effect at WP:CP where it is listed about the reasoning) or undeleting, or perhaps undeleting and then speeding under a different speedy criteria? Sorry to be so process oriented, but one of the goals of DRV is to give people a reasonable belief that their issue has been heard and understood. I'm not sure we are there right now. Thank you! Hobit (talk) 00:46, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hobit I'm not sure that the discussion is totally convincing, but now restored and redeleted as G11, also mentioned previous G4 Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:48, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, I understand. Not sure it's a G11 either based on the discussion, but I've honestly not even seen it. Hobit (talk) 16:17, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Not sure what the reason behind the deletion of the page, when I was addressing the comments regarding the page. The listed was factual information about the person, created with the person's knowledge. Reasons for deleting not understood, especially, when we were in the process of remedying the situation. The page said delete the notice, if you are planning to address the situation, which I was by rewording. Responding to: Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove speedy deletion notices from pages you created yourself, you may be blocked from editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Csengul (talkcontribs)

I see. I have misunderstood the instruction. It felts like it said you can remove the notice if you are making changes to address the problem. It was not malicious action, just trying to remedy the situation as fast as possible. So, I resubmit with changes? I said - we - because I've contacted the person before I've put an article about her and got her blessing, exactly to avoid the copyright situations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Csengul (talkcontribs) 14:02, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Csengul, I made these edits, and moved the connected contributor to talk. Please check the edit link. There are quite a number of unsourced statements that you should try to reference. When you are ready, add {{subst:submit}} to the top of your draft and save, that will attract a reviewer, because of your COI you shouldn't move the draft to mainspace yourself Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:05, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I added additional references to give further evidence. I added the {{subst:submit}} as well.
