Rupert Frazer

Rupert Frazer (born 1947) is a British actor.[1]
His work in theatre includes performances at Citizens Theatre, Royal Court Theatre and Royal National Theatre.[2] In 1975, he played the title role in the first British stage production of Seneca's Thyestes.[3] Other roles include King Lear and Tamburlaine.[4][5]
He appeared in Gandhi (1982).[6] In Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun (1987) he plays the father of the protagonist Jim (Christian Bale).[7][8]
Other roles include Algernon Moncrieff (Algy) in a 1986 tv-production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest,[9] Dale in The Girl in a Swing (1988),[10][11] Lord Alexander Montford in The House of Eliott,[12] and Neville Chamberlain in Downton Abbey.[13]
