Photos about the different types

Comments removed about material comparison, emissivity of light or dark shades of cover

The comments comparing fabric, aluminum, and other covers were inaccurate and clear showing a bias away from some types, and not providing any basis for claims. It seems to be driven by commercial interests of that author. Previous content on be retracted by the author.

-Agreed, really reads like a TV shopping channel announcer's writing. I could delete the biased text but then the article would be pretty bare, so I'll just mark it POV. Littledots (talk) 16:11, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The information listed in the "awning" selection is biased and outdated. Readers should be sure to do their own research as the information is not accurate and should not be relied upon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.110.227.103 (talk) 03:56, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Solar thermal

It can be used to cover the solar thermal system in the summer, not enough heat.

Rope

I suggest more text about the use of ropes to move the outings (to shading and to allow the sund bright). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.145.201.52 (talk) 14:38, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fire Hazard

I noticed this page has a "benefits" section. It might be worthwhile having a "bad things" section too. For example, awnings can be a fire hazard, and this can be verified at basically any fire service website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.45.117.112 (talk) 15:02, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

Internal arm springs (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) shouldnt be merged into this a fdehdthd erticle. – ukexpat (talk) 19:38, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Materials

Quite possibly a stupid question, but I've really no clue: is it still called an "awning" if it's from concrete or some such "heavy" material, like the one above the balcony on this picture, or do architects have some other name for that? --Thrissel (talk) 18:45, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Benefits

Benefits section claims that awnings reduce temprature without citing references — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.45.140.159 (talk) 09:03, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Too American

This article does not cover the topic from a world wide viewpoint. Peter Horn User talk 01:30, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
