03:37:01, 4 April 2018 review of submission by TheGoldenArmor375
- TheGoldenArmor375 (talk · contribs) (TB)
Good day, I am currently needing help for the creation of the basketball finals template for the MPBL. It should look like just like derived from the PBA conference finals infobox ones, in order to display correct information. I need this ASAP because the finals will start expected on April 12, Thursday.
TheGoldenArmor375 (talk) 03:37, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- TheGoldenArmor375 the layout isn't the issue with the article, it's the lack of sourcing for it. The main article will cover the topic, and a standalone article should only be written if it's worthwhile for a standalone article. What you have so far is a bracket, with no information, or referencing. I'd also argue, it fails WP:CRYSTALBALL. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:36, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- So you mean the lack of references for the article and WP:CRYSTALBALL are the main problems of my draft? --TheGoldenArmor375 (talk) 15:04, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- Pretty much. An article doesn't really need to made on the championships before anything is really known about it. At the moment, all of this information is in the main article as well, anyway. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:30, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

I cannot make pictures this is what pops up
173.219.129.75 (talk) 18:09, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- Adding an image is a two-step process: first upload it, then use it in on a page. It looks like you skipped directly to step two without uploading the file. You will need an account, either on Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, to upload files.
- Go to Commons:First steps and carefully step through the tutorial. When you get to "First steps/Uploading files", don't dive in too hastily. First follow the link on that page to learn about the different licensing options. Other useful advance reading includes Wikipedia:File names and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Images, which will prepare you to answer important questions the upload wizard will ask you. If after that you have any questions or doubts, Commons has its own help desk.
- Once you've uploaded an image, the picture tutorial can guide you through how to use it on a page. If this is for Draft:The Quiet Year (board game), then the larger problem is that the draft cites no sources. Independent, in-depth, reliable, secondary sources are the foundation of any article. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Board and table games for topic-specific guidance and Wikipedia:Your first article for general instructions. --Worldbruce (talk) 13:17, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
18:29:06, 4 April 2018 review of submission by GaryS73
I am a new user to Wikipedia, am only trying to make an addition to an existing page, Covenant Aviation Security. I do not plan on any long term creative or editing activity and just want to accomplish this simple add, later learning small tasks as needed.
can you help? thanks. GaryS73
GaryS73 (talk) 18:29, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi GaryS73 - You should be able to edit Covenant Aviation Security; and from your editing history, it looks like you already have done in the past. I'm not sure what the issue is, although it looks like you've created a sandbox, that was rejected. The issue is that as much as you are allowed to put information in a sandbox, the article was placed for review, and denied (Mainly because we already have an article on the subject). The issue is that the information provided was also not in a tone suitable for an encyclopedia.
- All additions to any page need to be from a Neutral Point of View. If you need any more help, let me know on my talk page Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 11:06, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

Request on 01:31:44, 5 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Mchllgrdnr
- Mchllgrdnr (talk · contribs) (TB)
Hi, I'm not sure why the article was declined. She has many publications and many other UCI political scientists with similar accolades are published on this website.
Mchllgrdnr (talk) 01:31, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Mchllgrdnr the current draft at Draft:Claire Jean Kim has not been reviewed yet. The decline message on your talk page relates to a previous draft that was actually deleted back in December 2017 because it contained material copied from elsewhere. While you wait for a review you could take a look at the notability guideline for academics and edit the draft accordingly if the subject qualifies. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 12:15, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
04:47:36, 5 April 2018 review of submission by SunnyBoi
Hello Articles for creation Help desk, thank you for your help.
I am requesting advice about my draft page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:SeneGence_International,_Inc.
I have previously submitted it and it was not considered notable. But, looking at other pages approved during that time, they seem less notable and to have less reach. Is it possible to receive some other feedback? I realise that I have done quite a few citations for the founder's published book, but I have about 80 other references.
Thank you so much for your time!

Hello Johnkizito. I've check over your article "Draft:Yannick Kizito," and it doesn't appear to meet the WP:PERSON notability guideline. Consider adding more info as to why this person is notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. Also, try reading the WP:PERSON article for help.

There was no reason left on why the submission was denied. Van I get an explanation on what was wrong so I can correct it?
Senraco (talk) 01:17, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Senraco, it is actually impossible to decline a draft without giving a reason. The large pink box at the top of the page does give the reason together with links to guidance on how to solve the problem. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 10:39, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

What does "no blue links" mean?
84.73.9.156 (talk) 12:56, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, IP user. By "Blue Link", I'd assume the moderator meant Wikilinks. Basically, the draft currently has no active links to other pages on Wikipedia. I'm not sure what is really meant by this, as there are Wikilinks in the fields, and the template is similar to other templates in my opinion such as Template:AMD Ryzen Mobile. I have submitted and accepted the template, as it seems ok to me. Where would this Template be used? Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:05, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- I have several Template:AMD templates in the queue for re-review that have been similarly rejected. The edit history attributed from the beginning that this was content copied from the original pages, so they not only conform to the current AMD template style, but also to what they would replace. They have been created so that the tables can be shared with other pages where there is duplication or they are simply still missing. 84.73.9.156 (talk) 14:36, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

This first time i am creating a new topic.... and i genuinely believe that this topic must be there is wikipedia as Andaman Sheekha is one of the prominent newspaper of Andaman, India. I am new so do not know much rules.... anyone..any senior editor can google and check..how many answer come out when you type Andaman sheekha, Andaman in google............. and hence this topic is need of the hour......... i need help
Narcondum (talk) 13:49, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Narcondum. The reviewer comments on the draft are not especially helpful. For the draft to be published, it needs to persuade the reviewer that Andaman Sheekha meets the notability criteria for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The way to do that is to cite multiple, independent, reliable sources. Referencing for beginners explains how to cite sources. Saying that there are many Google hits is not enough. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:20, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

um hi. I'm trying to make an article called Draft:Carpentersville_Middle_School. Its not the most notable, but I want to make it because it's my school. How can I make it meet the notability guidelines? thx ElijahGreen101
- Hello @ElijahGreen101: the issue is that most middle schools on the planet do not meet Notability because most of them pretty much just do their job educating people without anything unduly special happening. You can take a look at WP:Notability (schools) to see if there's anything special Carpentersville qualifies for, but generally speaking middle schools don't get their own article.
- I hope you're not too disappointed, since writing this article is good practice anyway to learn wiki coding skills. In general, before writing an article you *really* want to make sure it meets WP:Notability (and note there are specific guidelines for all kinds of topics that you can google up). But no harm done, hopefully it's still a good learning experience. Hope this answers your question. MatthewVanitas (talk) 02:47, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
17:02:06, 6 April 2018 review of submission by Yesterdaysfire
- Yesterdaysfire (talk · contribs) (TB)
Hi there!
My article It's Never Enough (Album) was accepted after review. But, now I can't find the article published anywhere on the wikipedia site. Any chance you may know what could have happened?
Yesterdaysfire (talk) 17:02, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Yesterdaysfire. The reviewer accepted the draft but immediately turned it into a redirect to the band, without leaving any comment about it for you, which I can see could be confusing.
- They felt the draft did not meet Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, specifically the notability guideline WP:NALBUM. Rather than decline the draft a fourth time for the same reason (when the three previous declines didn't seem to have conveyed to you just how far off the mark the draft was), the reviewer accepted the name of the draft as a reasonable search term that should lead to some information (at the band article), but removed the draft's content from view.
- If you click on the wikilink It's Never Enough (Mordecai album), you will be taken to the article Mordecai (band) with a note at the top of the page: "(Redirected from It's Never Enough (Mordecai album))". If you click on that small text you'll reach the page you worked on. It's now a redirect, but all your work is preserved in the page's history, and if at some future date the album can be shown to be notable, then the redirect can be converted into a stand alone article. Because you've had considerable difficulty with it, I recommend leaving it for a more experienced Wikipedian, or until you have gained more experience. --Worldbruce (talk) 00:39, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

I'm requesting assistance because my submission has been denied and i do not know why. I want to make the proper changes so that my submission can be approved. Chiefwill33 (talk) 17:28, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Chiefwill33 - I'm afraid this draft has many problems. They are explained in the Decline Notice. First you have to show that McKithen is Notable. To do this, you need to provide evidence of significant coverage about him in a range of reliable, independent sources. You don't have any such sourcing. Sources 1/3 are links to his book. These aren't independent. I don't know what Source 2 is, but it doesn't look reliable. Second, the content is very promotional. We just don't write articles that say "McKithen is a really clever guy", which is what you are saying with content like "his excellent academic achievements and his work with the diverse community and tremendous work edifying students in the community". Last, I think it very likely you are connected to McKithen. Are you? If you are that needs to be declared as Conflict of Interest. All in all, I very much doubt you can make this draft acceptable. Anyone that can check the script of these lines at the bottom of the page?

How can I edit a blanked article?
The article I submitted has been declined and blanked. How can I acccess the draft article now in order to edit and resubmit it? When I click on the edit tab at the top of the page, the article is no longer there. Can it be moved back to my sandbox? (I did not copy the text from another website. However, after submitting the Wikipedia article, part of the text (the 'scientific career' section) was sent to somebody else who in turn, unfortunately, posted it on their website.) Thanks for your help. Scairp4 (talk) 08:44, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Scairp4 I have restored the page and posted an explanatory note to inform other reviewers of the matter. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 11:29, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi again Scairp4, nevermind the above, I have accepted the article. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. So, what would you like to do next? If you have a particular interest in biology or genetics, we have WikiProject pages for these topics at WP:WikiProject Biology and WP:WikiProject Genetics respectively (and a multitude of others that you can find at this directory.) - Hello @Abdirahiim1000: your draft has *one* news source which is not enough, and more importantly it feels like you wrote an advertisement and then tried to make it "not an ad" by adding one news piece. You need to remove anything promotional like " It is available as a trial version, which you can use all the features for 30 days, and a paid version, which you can use for one year." and base your article pretty much entirely on what is said about the product by outsiders, not what is said by the company. What were the sources missing? Thegooduser Let's Chat 19:11, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hello @Thegooduser: the main issue is that the articles you've given just show the road *exists* (which we don't doubt). What you need to show is that the road matters. Has it been involved in any controversy? Is it famously scenic? Have books or newspapers written about the road itself (not just mentioning it in passing since a crime happened there)? Please see WP:Notability for requirements.
Articles generally require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic. |

Asking for help citing from the sources.
- Please make sure your are logged-in before posting Talk messages, so we know who is asking.
- Hello @74.192.229.105: @Jana14Me:, the issue is you have a huge amount of text and only four footnotes. Every sentence or group of sentences should have a footnote saying where you got the information from.
- Also, below your footnotes you have a ton of social media sites, professional profiles, etc. Those are not what we need, we need serious media coverage of her career by outside people.
- Further, I'm not sure she meets Notability based on your lead, if her main claims to fame are being on a citywide (Amarillo) music chart and one movie. I strongly advise you take five minutes to read WP:Notability (music) and if she meets those requirements you want to make that explicitly clear in your Draft.
- Next, your Draft has a ton of information about very minor things about her; we really don't need an exhaustive list of every high school musical and community theater production she's been in, we need to know what she's famous for.
- I know that's a lot to digest, but first and foremost take a good look at the Notability policy for music I linked, and make sure she meets those qualifications before proceeding. MatthewVanitas (talk) 03:00, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

Draft:Derek Williams (musician)
The Discogs copyright issue arose because I supplied Dr Williams with a draft of my opening introduction for him to verify its accuracy, which he then paraphrased and submitted to Discogs, without realising this would infringe copyright. I am the sole author of the material. Dr Williams has now arranged for this to be removed, so the only copy should now be that on Wikipedia.

Hi guys, I could use some directions, preferably in the form of a task list to create my first page called Cressida (producer). I'm struggling with getting information that other producers/DJ's have on their respectable pages. Any ideas how I can get the information? Also some references are rejected, I don't understand how an interview cannot be a reliable source, at least for a page that is in creation/completion.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
