The Traditionalist Youth Network (TYN) is a white separatist and white supremacist group based in Indiana that takes an explicitly anti-United States stance, instead expressing a desire to divide America into racially homogeneous mini-states, one of which will be called "Avalon". Its leaders include Matthew Heimbach, Thomas Buhls, and Matt Parrott. Heimbach, who believes the South should have won the civil war[1] was previously the founder of Towson University's White Student Union, and following the Charleston shooting he referred to the perpetrator as "a victim" of a society that oppresses whites.[2] The TYN uses a modified Roman Salute that resembles a Hitler Salute. [3]

The group's affiliated "Traditional Workers Party" is planning on running candidates for elective office in the future. Heimbach himself plans to run for state legislature in 2016. He says the TYN is an attempt to create a white version of movements such as Black Power groups, Hamas, and Hezbollah. [1]
