Guns N' Roses is an American hard rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985 by members of the bands Hollywood Rose and L.A. Guns. The band has released six studio albums, one live album, two compilation albums, two extended plays, six video albums, one video single, twenty-four singles and nineteen music videos.

Guns N' Roses signed a deal with Geffen Records in 1986 and released the EP Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide. The band's debut studio album, Appetite for Destruction, was released in 1987, reaching the top of the Billboard 200 and has sold 18 million units in the United States alone and 28 million units worldwide.[1] The band's next album, G N' R Lies, included the four Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide recordings on one side and four acoustic songs on the other. In 1990, Guns N' Roses returned to the studio to record their new studio album. The result was a double album, Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II, which were released simultaneously in 1991 and debuted on the two highest spots on the Billboard 200 with II leading the charts. In 1993, the band released "The Spaghetti Incident?", an album of cover versions. Following that, there were many internal conflicts within the band which led to most of the band members leaving, with just Axl Rose and Dizzy Reed remaining from the Use Your Illusion era. Their sixth studio album, Chinese Democracy was released in 2008 after over a decade of work and many line-up changes.

Guns N' Roses have sold an estimated 100 million albums worldwide, including over 50 million in the United States.[2]
