Support request with team editing experiment project
Dear tech ambassadors, instead of spamming the Village Pump of each Wikipedia about my tiny project proposal for researching team editing (see here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Research_team_editing), I have decided to leave to your own discretion if the matter is relevant enough to inform a wider audience already. I would appreciate if you could appraise if the Wikipedia community you are more familiar with could have interest in testing group editing "on their own grounds" and with their own guidance. In a nutshell: it consists in editing pages as a group instead of as an individual. This social experiment might involve redefining some aspects of the workflow we are all used to, with the hope of creating a more friendly and collaborative environment since editing under a group umbrella creates less social exposure than traditional "individual editing". I send you this message also as a proof that the Inspire Campaign is already gearing up. As said I would appreciate of *you* just a comment on the talk page/endorsement of my project noting your general perception about the idea. Nothing else. Your contribution helps to shape the future! (which I hope it will be very bright, with colors, and Wikipedia everywhere) Regards from User:Micru on meta.
Shrewsbury
Amwythig is the Welsh name for Shrewsbury and it has historical significance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.124.4.158 (talk) 21:27, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
- @144.124.4.158: Interesting, wouldn't have guessed that. From my perspective it looks like a misspelled "anything". Can you please include a reliable source using <ref> tags so we can verify that? Thanks! Winner 42 Talk to me! 21:32, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
- This was all discussed some time ago here. The previous consensus should stand until such time as a new discussion on the appropriate talk page comes to a different view. My own view, for what it's worth, is that it is helpful to include the Welsh names of those places close to the border that are signposted in Welsh from within Wales. Ghmyrtle (talk) 21:42, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Ghmyrtle: Wow that was some time ago, I'm not involved in the details of UK geography, but it seems like it would be helpful to have. Perhaps a new rfc is in order. Winner 42 Talk to me! 21:53, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

question about recent reverting
Hi i am wondering about your recent edit to remove me from the list of participants. I listed myself as a participant, got removed from this list of participants, then reviewed an article. I see I should've done it in another order. Was there another objection to me reviewing?Frederika Eilers (talk) 17:41, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Frederika Eilers: Hello, the reason I removed you from the list was that it is a requirement for AfC reviewers to have "a minimum of 500 undeleted edits to articles" and you have 76. Please do come back when you are more experienced though, we'd love to have you. Winner 42 Talk to me! 18:45, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Today's articles for improvement
- Hello Winner 42:
- This week's voting for TAFI's upcoming weekly collaboration has begun at Week 22 of 2015. Thanks for participating!
- Sorry for letting my frustration at admins not doing what they should boil over at you - but the warning was not for that article on its own. It was for the spamming of the website, throwing in unsourced, highly promotional information that didn't strictly agree with what some of the articles said, and then name-spamming Garraty across a whole bunch of articles. The user shouldn't even have needed warning, the obvious spamming and highly-promotional unsourced fluff across many articles was enough. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 13:30, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Lukeno94: No problem, we all get on edge at times. You are right about that spammer/SPA though. Enough EL violations to be thrown to the dogs, I'm not entirely sure they were made in bad faith though. The ip might think this is acceptable behavior. Go get yourself a nice drink though, no need to get stressed out over the spammers. Happy editing! Winner 42 Talk to me! 13:41, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- I don't understand why they weren't blocked. Promotional username, promotional edits, spam... it's an open-and-shut case. It's not the spammers stressing me out as such; it's just pricking the general exam-period stress (which is why most of my editing over the last month plus has been reverting vandalism/spam/etc and little else) Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 13:43, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Brightstat
Brightstat is a product that is accessible as SaaS freely on the internet and there are many people out there that will be happy to have alternatives to do statistical analysis. I think those who classify brightstat as spam are more than wrong and they hav not spent a minute of effort to inform themselves about brightstat.com!
It's right one has to register on brighstat.com but this registration is free. And after registering one can upload a data file and begin doing statistics and data visualization for free. So there's not only vassar stats on the web-universum there's also brightstat and it deserves to be linked and mentioned!!!
Brightstat is (as is vassarstat that is massively linked in Wikipedia) a website that has many examples for statistical tests. So I think brighstat deserves to be linked whenever there is a test that brighstat is able to perform. Lots of people in the whole world will be grateful to have more options than just vassar stats.
If brighstat links are promotional, vassar stat links are too! Either both are accepted or both have to be deleted!

After reading the story Mueller, Benjamin (1 November 2014). "For Man in Ebola Virus Cleanup, a History of Fraud". New York Times. Retrieved 1 May 2015. It never said my pane bought the company as you mentioned "After Gospodarski died, the company was sold to Sal Pane". Pane had a history of fraud accusations, including in 2010 when a Manhattan State Supreme Court judge issued an injunction against him and his mortgage companies.[9] Mr pane was nothing more then an ex employee of the company. please remove this thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.195.35.1 (talk) 20:14, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Re: addition of "transhuman" to Jupiter Ascending: Just saw this yesterday. Sean Bean's character delivers a chunk of exposition at his farmhouse, during which he clearly says that the Abrasax aristocrats are genetically-engineered humans. (It's never clarified whether alien life also exists in the film's world, or whether all the creatures we see are modified descendants of the original human species.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by N1ckFG (talk • contribs) 21:22, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- @N1ckFG: My concern wasn't that you added the link to transhumanism to the article, it was that you changed all the instances of "Cloud" to "Butt", you might want to turn off that extension while editing Wikipedia. Winner 42 Talk to me! 21:28, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Winner 42: Oops, thanks for taking the time to explain. The Cloud-to-Butt extension has been a source of great joy--wasn't aware that it does that.
- @Winner 42: It happened again? I've uninstalled the Chrome extension.
- @N1ckFG: Yea it did, would appreciate if you could fix that. Winner 42 Talk to me! 01:38, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Winner 42: Done. Replaced the original edit, but without the collateral damage. Thanks for your patience.
Florida State Seminoles Football - Domestic Violence Allegation Section
You recently undid my edit to the Florida_State_Seminoles_football article regarding the "Domestic Violence Allegation" section. Your comment was that there were reliable new sources cited, so it should remain. This was not the reason for the removal of the section. My argument is that the section should be removed because it is not about Florida State Seminoles Football.
If there were a "Domestic Violence Allegation" section for each allegation of domestic violence throughout the history of every college football team on Wikipedia, then the articles would be primarily about domestic violence allegations, rather than football. Just because there is a reliable news source does not mean that the section belongs in the article. A new page should be created, such as "domestic violence allegations in college football" for this type of content if it must be included. This allegation is simply too minor to be included in this article.
I look forward to your response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.34.197.134 (talk) 21:24, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello,
First time user, big time disappointed.
I am editing a page for a client and didn't realize the content had to be encyclopedic only. I understand some of the content I added or edited was more flowery.
But the entries I entered that were cited resources have also been deleted. Why was that? Is it all the edits get accepted or none?
As I lost 90 minutes of billable time after you wiped all my changes, I need to know before I proceed again - do you just blindly delete changes?
How do I ensure I don't waste another chunk of time working?
Brooketakhar (talk) 01:23, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Brooketakhar: Hello, I'm sorry you feel that way. One way you could think of this is that the time is only wasted if you don't go back and improve on the version that you had started (which you can still find in the view history section). If you fix the problems with the promotional tone of your section, then everyone will leave it alone and it will all be good. I can try to help out when I can, and there are also great resources for new editors at the teahouse as well which has many experienced editors ready to help you out. Hope your future experiences are more pleasant ! Winner 42 Talk to me! 01:45, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
It is very helpful to see those revisions. Thank you for directing me to them.
As long as I'm inserting factual information and quotes with direct links as evidence I hope my next attempt at editing this page will be successful.
Thank you for your assistance.
Brooketakhar (talk) 02:06, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Brooketakhar: No problem, because you seem willing to improve the article further, I've gone ahead and reinstated the edits you made with an additional tag for neutrality. Hopefully this can serve as a basis for the article's improvement. Happy Editing! Winner 42 Talk to me! 02:41, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
Hello again, I really appreciate you understanding this was an honest mistake. I have made edits to the content and deleted anything I felt was more personal and not "just the facts, ma'am." If you have time, are you able to review and remove the neutral tag? I am due to finish this project on Wednesday, so if you could let me know by then I'd really appreciate it. I just need to insert some images to complete the page. I will make sure I look that up to abide by the site's rules.

Vandalism.
Hello there, the edit you reverted by the IP on the "Saudi-led intervention in Yemen" was reverted by the same IP. He has not provided an open discussion for people and his reasoning for removing the news of a protests against the Saudi attacks in the Opposition section of the article is that it is a "waste of space". What can I do? ArabianWonders (talk) 09:50, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and started a discuss on the talk page, hopefully editors there can reach consensus on the inclusion/removal of that information. Winner 42 Talk to me! 13:26, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Brian Jackson (educator), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page British (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello Winner, you could indicate to me on what subject the article would need source or reference please? So, I would know what to do to remedy it. With my thanks to have to verify my work. Cordialy Lézard (talk) 14:19, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Lézard: In general, we are looking for sources like news articles or reviews that discuss the content. Statements like "First edition realised in France in May/June 1970." could use a reference to verify that it came out that year. A source that shows the track-listings would also be helpful. Happy editing! Winner 42 Talk to me! 15:32, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- This compilation had almost gone unnoticed in the time. I have only a hand-written inscription on the dress handkerchief: in " May-June, 1970 ". There is not date printed on the dress handkerchief or on the central label of the record. In any case, I am sure that it went out in 1970 because it was its first record brought out under the names of her house of production and the firm of distribution. I thus put sources concerning its two societies that I drew from the pages of the autobiography of Hardy where is year 1970. Here we are, it is that I can do best as reliabale source. Very cordially to you Winner. I have just seen that you removed the banner. Thank you Lézard (talk) 17:19, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

New article Cybersecurity Strategy 5 layered Capability Maturity Model CS5L CMM
Dear Winner42, Thank you in advance for reviewing and approving my article on CS5L CMM. I would like to provide you with some background what would not necessary be in the article. I have been working on this model, CS5L CMM for a few years now, and although it has been adopted by some state governments and companies it has not made its way to Wikipedia. As you may see in my references that there was an attempt to develop a capability maturity model in the energy sector which did not get past C2M2. This measurement model CMM is quickly becoming a standard in the industry to fill a void. There is great need for a measurement much like credit scoring in the cyber security world, to enable vendors to measure agents that they do business with. We have developed a web based SAAS UI that allows companies to independently have access to an easy to use interface to collect data and measure their security. This is an open system, (free) and is developed in the spirit of maturing capability nationwide. Our company, Systems Soft Technologies derive revenue from developing IT systems in the USA, and we do not derive income from this system, rather it is our selfish intent to have companies that we deploy systems in, measure and improve their defense, so as to protect our work. We are the driving force on developing the initiative with the AIF Associated industries of Florida, as you see in my article. I hope the credentials accompanying my article suffice, as I have the dilemma that a lot of content, certainly the idea itself, has been authored by me, and therefore I find no reference is this new and developing field. Regards, Sean Connors
- @Sean p connors: Hello, the problem you are having is that it may simply be too soon for this article to be added to Wikipedia. Wikipedia relies on independent sources such as news articles or publications to show that your topic (in this case the model) is notable. As the field develops and if your service becomes notable in the future, then it will merit a Wikipedia article. The notability needs to come first as Wikipedia is not a place to promote your service. I would also suggest reading our Conflict of Interest guidelines as it appears you may have one. Thank you for your time. Winner 42 Talk to me! 16:19, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Winner42: On the contrary, as I explained the article is late to be added to Wikipedia. I understand that the Cybersecurity field is changing fast, but the development of these academic models and the publication of such, to a source such as Wikipedia is essential for the betterment of the public at large. This is not a service we provide, and as I explained this is an open system, or more correctly an idea, or framework. The article describes this framework, and is notable, as I pointed out, is an initiative with AIF and has been adopted by, and contributions of design made by many companies and government. Because of the nature of cybersecurity, these names should not be included in a public article. If you review other notables, in reference, like NIST you will see parts of a similar approach, but not in a CMM.
- There is no conflict of interest here, as we are not promoting anything, or attempting to gain any fame or credibility from this article, rather it is an article openly sharing an idea that is being used more and more widely as a framework to manage by measurement a cyber security defense. Please reconsider. Sean p connors 13:58, 5 May 2015 (EST)
- @Winner42: Is not the greatest part of Wikipedia the ability publish an article and have active editing, enhancing ideas and knowledge. This article way exceeds standards for publication with regard notability, references, and valuable content in the cyber security field. Would not a cyber security expert in new technologies and techniques be the judge on content, if you are to judge notability. Conflict of interest is just not applicable in this case. I request that you approve publication in the spirit of Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia which enables collaboration of ideas.

- @Jmbowden: Hello, draft space is where Wikipedia articles in the Articles for Creation are written and reviewed before them become part of regular Wikipedia. solar air conditioning page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_air_conditioning#Photovoltaic_.28PV.29_solar_cooling
This contains some really poor quality and irrelevant information. The section in the pv air conditioning about solar tracking systems is generally irrelevant as it assumes a particular position on the earth, North America I would guess, other positions of solar installationns require tracking to deal with angles other than 47degrees. The 7kW described, one would assume, to be the average needed, pv systems are more often described at peak rates for standard conditions. But the current article is very unclear about this.

Stop removing my link that I have attached to Freddie Gray page. The link is associated with the Person, and the case of this person. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JusticeForFreddieGray (talk • contribs) 01:56, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
- No thanks, that link is a clear violation of WP:EL and WP:NPOV. Wikipedia does not endorse political or activist groups. Winner 42 Talk to me! 01:59, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

This is your only warning, if you revert vandalism faster than I do, you will be given a lot of praise. that happened a lot of times to me already -- Fazbear7891 (talk) 03:00, 6 May 2015 (UTC) |

- Hello, it's fine. You can just add the movie back in with the proper sources and formatting similar to all the other items in the list. I'm sorry if I have offended you. If there is anything you need feel free to ask! Winner 42 Talk to me! 03:35, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
Edit to page
Hello - Thanks for the message. I made the edit again and added the reason why the information is no longer correct, thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisobrooks (talk • contribs) 05:58, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
No Consensus for Inclusion for Isla Vista Men's Rights
This follows from today's edit I did to the article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions#For_the_edit_on_Isla_Vista_Shootings_I_made.2C_are_the_sources_reliable_enough.3F)
Somebody reverted it so I reverted it back and now the article is protected because there is no consensus for inclusion. I started a talk on it's talk page. How long will it last? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ylevental (talk • contribs) 16:46, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

Information on page is incorrect
My edits were not approved due to a conflict of interest, however, the information that is posted on the page is factually incorrect, and I'd like to know how to get it removed. Thanks Cettleman215 (talk) 18:19, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Caren
- The reports by the wall street journal and thetruthaboutcars verify the information given in that statement. How have you concluded that the information is incorrect? Winner 42 Talk to me! 18:43, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
Curse Page Update
Hey Winner,
The edit I made to the Curse, Inc. page was to revert a bad edit made by another user who then protected the page. They mistakenly changed the name of the company and redirected it to an irrelevant page for a company that no longer exists. These changes were reverted. Hope I didn't trigger too much!

- No problem, I see what you are trying to do. Stuff like that tends to look like vandalism on Huggle without the context of the move. Winner 42 Talk to me! 19:00, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
207.151.120.4
Dear Winner 42-
The previous post written about Sofia Gruskin was much less neutral. I am an employee of hers and have actually worked to condense and tone down the content. If you could please unblock the page so that I can continue editing that would be much appreciated. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.151.120.4 (talk) 19:11, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

New question raised regarding Talk:Hillary Rodham Clinton/April 2015 move request
Some opposers of this move have now contended that there is a "Critical fault in proposal evidence", which brings the opinions expressed into question. Please indicate if this assertion in any way affects your position with respect to the proposed move. Cheers! bd2412 T 04:35, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
Modify title for article presently called Just in Time (Business)
Thank you for your offer to fix the wrong title for me. The article's present title is "Just in Time (Business)" The correct title, far more specific and accurate, should be "Just-in-Time Manufacturing" I've already fixed some of the early content of the article by adding lots of relevant citations.Shonzey (talk) 19:11, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Shonzey: There you go should be good now. Let me know if you want me to make any more changes. Winner 42 Talk to me! 19:16, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi I don't know who you are, or how editing wikipedia works - did my first contribution today. You said you removed it because it was not constructive for you... is this a personal opinion or on some objective criteria? My response was particularly directed at the easy to assume in ignorance but unsubstantiated view by a labour polictician that there was an inequality over the MA ststus (even though it is qualified) all MAs are unequal some universities are much more rigorous thanh others. I am not sure what your knowledge is of UK education system but Bristol is one of the top 10 most possible and has 1/4 of the workload etc prefix:User talk:Winner 42/
Not sure how to just send you a personal message rather than in a forum and am of course interested in any modifications to my input that you suggest but the point is a good one to make
