Bengali Americans (Bengali: বাঙ্গালী মার্কিন Bangali Markin) are Americans of Bengali ethnic, cultural and linguistic heritage and identity. They trace their ancestry to the historic ethno-linguistic region of Bengal in South Asia (now divided between India and Bangladesh).

• Bangladeshi Americans, Americans of Bangladeshi descent
• Bengali Indian Americans, Americans of Indian descent whose ancestral origins are in West Bengal, the Barak Valley and Tripura

Notable people

• Fazlur Khan - a pioneer of modern structural engineering and architecture, whose innovations revolutionized tall building design. He was the designer of Willis Tower, John Hancock Centre, Hajj Terminal, and etc.
• Jawed Karim - co creator of YouTube and designed key parts of PayPal.
• Salman Khan - notable educator, created Khan Academy. In 2012, Time named Salman Khan in its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
• Amar Bose - a pioneer of electrical and sound engineering, he founded the Bose Corporation.
• Mir Ali (engineer) - an engineer working in skyscrapers construction and management.
• Arshad Mansoor- is Senior Vice President of the Research and Development Group for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), with executive responsibility for EPRI’s portfolio of research, development and demonstration programs, spanning renewable, fossil, and nuclear generation; power delivery and utilization; and the environment.
