Category:Lists of Billboard Hot Digital Songs number-one songs
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: rename. The Bushranger One ping only 01:08, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Rename. Seems to coincide with the articles within the category and a number of sister categories under Category:Lists of number-one songs in the United States. Also provides a more generic and stable name than using the actual chart name, which can change time and again (as with "Hot Digital Songs" just being changed to "Digital Songs" this week). --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 02:58, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
- Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.

- Propose deleting Category:Newhaven - Template:Lc1
- Nominator's rationale: I'm not sure which basis covers this. Might be WP:OC#SHAREDNAMES or it might be WP:OC#LOCATION. First, I don't know if we have cats that have only a place name as opposed to, for example, actors from [place name]. Second, even if we do, this name is ambiguous as can be seen from Newhaven and New Haven (disambiguation). Bbb23 (talk) 22:44, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- Rename to Category:Newhaven, East Sussex per head article Newhaven, East Sussex. I have just populated the category, which now contains 9 articles and one subcat. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 00:31, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Rename per BHG; obvious now it is populated. Peterkingiron (talk) 22:02, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: rename. The Bushranger One ping only 00:58, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Consistent with Category:Transgender and transsexual people parent category. --173.51.221.24 (talk) 21:23, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- Rename to Category:Fictional transgender and transsexual characters per convention of the fictional character tree. Jerry Pepsi (talk) 04:22, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Rename per nom to be consistent with its parent category. Dimadick (talk) 09:53, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Category:Fictional Americans by ethnicity
- Nominator's rationale: Consistent with Category:Fictional characters by ethnicity or nationality and Category:American people by ethnic or national origin parent categories. --173.51.221.24 (talk) 20:41, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- Rename per nom To be consistent with its parent category. Dimadick (talk) 09:55, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose These categories should be limited to clear examples of ethnicity, not weak "national origin" categories. At one point having the later lead to the ludicrous claim that Charlie Brown was of English descent, a fact never asserted in the comics.John Pack Lambert (talk) 00:35, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
- That's an issue for cleaning up failures of WP:V, not for not correctly renaming the category. - The Bushranger One ping only 01:00, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- Rename per nom to be consistent with its category tree. - The Bushranger One ping only 01:00, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
Category:Wikipedia events and real-life initiatives
- Nominator's rationale: Real-life comes across as a bit odd- onwiki/online events are still (I hope) part of reality, so I suggest renaming the real-life part of this category to offline or offwiki. :) Acather96 (click here to contact me) 10:45, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- Comment - Suggested better re-name off-wiki intitiatives - so the potential confusion as to what constitutes reality, real life, on or off line are not unnecessarily further argued here or anywhere else - to keep it simple with off-wiki - if it is undertsood sufficiently may be more appropriate. satusuro 11:00, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support change. I prefer "off-wiki" to "off-line" but neither of them are widely accepted terms. "Off-wiki" is something only said by Wikipedians, and this category includes virtual meetups outside Wikipedia, so that is not the best term. Still, I think it is better than "off-line" because it is used more on Wikipedia, even though offline captures more of the meaning. Actually, this is problematic. I do not know what is best. A change to either of those terms is better than the current title, though. Blue Rasberry (talk) 13:45, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: Speedy delete C1. Category now empty. Not a productive category. No need to drag this out. - The Bushranger One ping only 09:30, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- Propose deleting Category:Mythological abolitionists - Template:Lc1
- Propose deleting Category:Mythological abolitionists - Template:Lc1
- Nominator's rationale: Is this a joke? It's first entry was Moses with the edit summary "Super best friends :0" Dougweller (talk) 06:26, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- I will not misuse the edit system anymore. That was not a very good joke but it's a good category; several mythological figures including Moses freed slaves; I thought abolitionst was the best word for the slaves as it's what Harriet Tubman is listed as. CensoredScribe (talk) 07:13, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- Delete No reliable sources have been identified that call Moses a "mythical abolitionist". I am aware of no reliable sources that call any character a "mythological abolitionist" or anything close to that. Abolitionism is a concept that relates especially to 19th century history but not to myth. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 07:33, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: speedy rename C2C per convention of parent Category:American novels by writer. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 09:58, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Books written by Blake Nelson to Category:Novels by Blake Nelson
- Nominator's rationale: All 5 members of the category are novels and the "Novels by Foo" is the standard title of categories of this sort. Pichpich (talk) 03:26, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
