To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.
- Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
- Offer a correction if possible.
- References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
- Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 10:32 on 5 December 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
- Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
- Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
- No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
- Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
- Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

Errors in In the news
"The Cambodian Tailorbird, found in Phnom Penh, is identified as a new bird species."
- Common (vernacular) names are given in lower case, except where proper names appear (zebras, mountain maple, gray wolf, but Przewalski's horse). Some editors prefer to capitalize the IOC-published common names of birds (Golden Eagle) in ornithological articles; do not apply this style to other categories. Use a consistent style for common names within an article.
- Some editors at WikiProject Birds have arrived at a "local consensus" to propose, based on current and historic usage among those who study birds academically, that common names of bird species and subspecies as published by the International Ornithological Congress or regional nomenclature authorities should be capitalized, in ornithology articles only, as in "the Golden Eagle is a relatively large eagle". This capitalization is controversial, and the Manual of Style does not endorse it, but has recommended as of March 2012 ignoring the matter until such time as a site-wide consensus settles the dispute, rather than engaging in any further editwarring over it. Do not apply such capitalization to any other category.
Spicemix (talk) 19:58, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- Since the boldfaced article is ornithological, it's logical to use the same capitalisation in the item. Yngvadottir (talk) 20:05, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- It is your own logic then, not that of MOS, which is clear we should not pic'n'mix styles—in this case the capitalization of common nouns—on a given page. WP main page is not an ornithological article and MOS:LIFE does not allow us to extend the local consensus on ornithological articles to WP generally. Spicemix (talk) 20:51, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
- You bolded the wrong part. The part you should have highlighted is "...but has recommended as of March 2012 ignoring the matter until such time as a site-wide consensus settles the dispute, rather than engaging in any further editwarring over it." You perhaps need to look up the meaning of the term "to ignore" in a dictionary or something. --Jayron32 01:33, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
I moved the fire page back to where it was originally located, so if anyone wants to fix the redirect from "...fire" to "...Fire," that would be great. Thanks ahead of time! Kevin Rutherford (talk) 19:33, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
Gliese 667 C
The blurb reads: At least six planets, including three planets suspected of being habitable, are found orbiting the star Gliese 667 C.
But when you read the article, it talks about 5, 6, and 7 planetary solutions... and even in the 6/7 planetary solutions, two of the planets are unconfirmed. As written, this blurb is wrong. If "five" is a possibility and two planets are "unconfirmed" then we can't say definitively "at least six planets." It should be rewritten "Up to seven planets, including three planets suspected of being habitable, are found orbiting the start Glies 667 C."50.201.228.200 (talk) 22:25, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
- Changed to five, thanks. Stephen 02:40, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Egyptian Protests Link Change
"Large protests against President Mohamed Morsi are held across Egypt." The link for the protests themselves should be changed from 2013 Egyptian protests to Egyptian protests (June 2013–present). 2013 Egyptian Protests simply redirects to that page already. Signalizing (talk) 02:27, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- Link fixed, thanks. Stephen 02:41, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- At 6.30 this morning, the article's name was changed again (possibly inadvisedly) to July 2013 Egyptian protests. Colonies Chris (talk) 08:49, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

- The link for St Leger redirects to the family of that name, not the race St. Leger Stakes. It needs piping (and a full stop too). Colonies Chris (talk) 08:46, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- Done. Not sure why there is a period; as far as I know British English does not use a period after "St". — Crisco 1492 (talk) 09:04, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I don't think there's any particular pattern of full-stop usage in BE. Witness St. James's Park (London) but St James' Park (Newcastle), or St Andrew Square but St. Stephen St. (Edinburgh) Colonies Chris (talk) 10:37, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- "that Toftes Gave served as an institution for maladapted children for more than hundred years?" should have "for more than one/a hundred years", I think.64.201.173.145 (talk) 17:01, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
