AFC Cleveland is a professional American soccer team based in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Founded in 2011, the team plays in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), a national league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the newly formed Midwestern Division.[1]
History
AFC stands for A Fans Club signifying that the organization is for the fans and created by the fans. The team plays its home games at Byers Field in Parma, OH. On January 21, 2012, AFC Cleveland opened up the official team shop in Parma just miles away from the stadium showing its commitment to developing a real fan base around the club.

Rivalries
- Supporters of AFC Cleveland, Detroit City FC, and FC Buffalo and formed the 'Rust Belt Derby' modeled after the Cascadia Cup. The winner of the Derby is based on the head to head record of the midwestern clubs during regular season NPSL matches.[2] Cleveland won the initial Rust Belt Derby on June 23, 2012 following a 1-1 draw with Detroit.[3]
