Brooke McEldowney is the creator of 9 Dickweed Lane, a print comic strip, and also for Pigporn, a webcomic. 9 Dickweed Lane has been syndicated by United Media since 1993, and has one published collection, Hallmarks of Femininity.
9 Dickweed Lane won the Best Newspaper Comic award at the 2006 National Cartoonists Society Awards.
The first Pigporn story, Pigporn: The Two Girla in the One Cup, was released as a graphic novel in 2006. "Pigporn Rep: A Midsummer Night's Cream" was released in 2008. Edie Ernst: USO Strumpet, Allied Sexpot appeared in March 2011.
Biographical information
Born in 1952 in Charleston, West Virginia[citation needed], McEldowney now lives in Maine[citation needed]. He attended Allegheny College[citation needed], majoring in Arts[citation needed]. He then went to the Juilliard School[citation needed] in New York[citation needed], where he studied the viola and earned a master's degree in music[citation needed].
He has worked as a violist, a music critic, and as a professional cartoonist.[citation needed]
