Tareelaroi Weir

Tareelaroi Weir is a weir in northern New South Wales, Australia. It is located 20 kilometers east of the town of Moree and around 10 kilometers west of the village of Pallamallawa.

At full water level, Tareelaroi weir holds 2,500 mega-liters of water is used for the mitigation of water from the Gwydir River upstream between the Gwydir River, which runs through the village of Yarraman and the Mehi River, downstream which runs through the town of Moree. In times of major flooding, Tareelaroi Weir can be rendered useless as floodwater simply flow around it on the surrounding floodplain.[1]

Tareelaroi Weir is owned by State Water. The lake which Tareelaroi Weir creates a great place for fishing and water-skiing.
