The 1961 New York Giants season was the 37th season for the club in the National Football League . After relinquishing the NFL East title the previous season, the Giants reclaimed the title with a 10–3–1 record, only to lose to the Vince Lombardi -coached Green Bay Packers in the NFL Championship Game in Wisconsin.
