zeebox is a social networking and social TV website and software for mobile devices such as the iPad providing contextual information second-by-second as people watch TV, such as which friends are watching the same shows right now and providing augmented information on what is seen and heard within the broadcast.

The company is founded by Anthony Rose, the ex CTO of the BBC iPlayer and Ernesto Schmitt, ex Board Director of EMI Music. Film Director Simon Miller, is also in the founding team.

The service is being launched in October 2010 by zeebox Limited, a British company.

paidContent.org seemed to break the story of zeebox in August 2010. [1]
