Talk:Spike Video Game Awards
Once again, the Video Game Awards are rigged. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Checkerfacts (talk • contribs) 03:12, 13 December 2009 (UTC) Try to get some more information with a picture and please try to get the other years to thank you
Why is it a criticism that Spike allegedly avoids nominating Nintendo when last year's GOTY was RE4 and the DS won an award for hardware?
- While I can't say anything about the DS, the RE4 nominations all listed the PS2 as the platform. If you followed the Spike game info, you wouldn't even know it had been released for the GameCube. -- 142.166.3.82 17:27, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
More details?
Would be nice to see more information about the events in general, like where they take place / were filmed. I think that the 2007 awards were in the Mandalay Bay - I was on vacation and saw signage for the production staff on the Monday before they occurred, but that doesn't mean that the actual event happened there. Bradenmcg (talk) 18:32, 10 December 2007 (UTC) It would also be nice to add the Nominees for each of the categories. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.252.4.21 (talk) 22:17, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Suspicious sentence
- "The stereotype that gamers are immature and have a low sense of humor is also prevalent, as demonstrated in "Hot Girls Read Cheat Codes" in which scantily clad models read the directions for cheat codes in a seductive tone of voice.[1]"
The "demonstration" is POV. If someone doesn't tell me why it is not POV, I'll remove it. --Jedravent (talk) 22:46, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Since nobody has told me, I am removing it. --Jedravent (talk) 21:29, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
should the 07outcomes be up yet? it hasnt even aired yet?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.156.96.71 (talk) 02:20, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
The 2007 outcomes are out . . . but some fanboys have been putting up bogus info. GOTY is Bioshock, not Call of Duty 4 as someone posted.03:11, 10 December 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dagman (talk • contribs)
I know, why would they do that? I had to change it, like, twice already becasue someone first put "Halo 3 biatch", then COD4, and just recently Super Mario Galaxy. Damn kids and their Internet access. Kap2319 (talk) 04:27, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
I take it someone likes Mario...
"Thier Anti-Nintendo policies were basically proven as fact when Super Mario Galaxy wasn't nominated for Game of the Year, even though it was the second best reviewed game of all time, scoring higher than all the other games on the list by most critics."
This needs to get replaced/removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.170.56.68 (talk) 05:49, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Needs a Criticism Section
These awards are total shite. But that's just my opinion. The point is that on virtually EVERY gaming blog/site there's criticisms that should be echoed here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.239.3.18 (talk) 07:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Totally agree - I seem to recall last year that they released the nominees (or perhaps winners.. can't quite remember) before some of the games had even been released. I've never heard anything but criticism about these awards, so I think the omission of such a section is glaring. MatttK (talk) 00:54, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- We need citations for it! Stabby Joe (talk) 21:28, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Added citations needed notes for Criticism section. Some of it sounds like original research and will be removed without references. Pejorative.majeure (talk) 18:16, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Nominees
Is anyone objective to adding in the nominees as well? It'd be nice to be able to see who all was eligible to win each award as well as who took home the gold. --ZeroAccend (talk) 22:06, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- Not to say it shouldn't be done, but that will take a lot of time searching through all the sources and then having to add them all to the page. Good idea, but is it really worth it? I mean, if someone wants to do it, go for it, but let us know what kind of lay out their going to use. Will they bullet underneath the award the nominees or will they just make a main section under the Previous Winners section titled Nominees and list each year, the awards under each year, and the nominees by each award? If I were to do it, it would be the latter. JDC808 (talk) 08:49, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Team Sports Game of the Year for 2008 missing?
This category seems to be missing. I'd fix it but it is locked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.180.29.246 (talk) 03:38, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism
Someone changed the Best Original Score winner from Halo 3: ODST to Modern Warfare 2. Should I change it back? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.99.38.146 (talk) 07:39, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- I see you went ahead and changed it back. Thanks. No need to ask permission or anything if you spot blatant factual errors or vandalism like that. :) Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 09:40, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Neil Patrick Harris.
Who didn't see Neil Patrick Harris winning the best male voice award? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.252.149.183 (talk) 04:52, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
- Someone somewhere? I think you've missed the point of this page; Neil winning might of been obvious, but...Is this something relating to anything on the page?
