Saleh Khana

Saleh Khana is a strong and courageous village in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan. It is located in Nowshera District. Most of the people of this village are living in different countries like the United Kingdom, United States, United Arab Emirates, Norway and Canada.

The people of this village are known as the Khattaks, there are many khel (tribes) in the village such as the MOND-KHEL QURBAN-KHEL Meis Khel Douran-Khel, Tatar-Khel, Gun-Khel, namawar-Khel, Manga-Khel, and many more.The community in this village are Pathans,Pakhtoons. The language spoken is Pashto dialect that was formed by Khushal Khan Khattak (1613 - 1689).

This village is surrounded the very high Cherat mountains. The Cherat consists of Army Training for Pakistan Army, namely the elite Special Service Group of Pakistan Army. The Cherat Fort is closed to public. Cherat, which is 4,500 feet above sea-level, was first used as a sanitarium for troops in 1861. The village is known for their slogan "The few - the proud".

This is the only village in Pakistan which has seven banks( also with a high currency): Allied Bank, Habib Bank, Muslim Commercial Bank, United Bank, National Bank Habib Bank AG Zurich and BANK AL HABIB.

Its also sometimes called " Little England". There are other villages surrounding it but this is the main village as it is the best. This tribe is well known for its bravery and fighting.
