Pascack Hills High School (PHHS) is one of two high schools that are part of the Pascack Valley Regional High School District. It serves the residents of both Montvale, where the actual campus is located, and the neighboring Woodcliff Lake. The other high school in the district is Pascack Valley High School and it servicees the communities of Hillsdale and River Vale.

History

Pascack Hills came into being in the fall of 1965, and did so because of the enormous growth of population in northern Begren County in the early 1960's. The school spent its first five decades relatively unchanged in terms of architechture.

Campus

Pascack Hills High School developed a modern look with it's college campus-styled atmosphere and sprawling landscape. The athletic facilities include a regulation size track, a grass football field named for long-time principal Bart DiPaola, three tennis courts, a combination softball and baseball field that can be utilized for soccer, and a gymnasium, which houses basketball and volleyball.

Extracurricular Activities

In addition to being recognized as a leader in education, Pascack Hills offers its students the finest in cocurricular and extracurricular activities. Included are the Academic Decathlon, the Audiovisual Club, the Marching Band and Concert Band, the Computer Club, the Debate Team, the Flag Squad, Fall Drama, the French Club, the French and Spanish Honor Societies, the National Honor Society, HOPE (Helping Other People Every Day), the Human Rights League, the Interact Club, JAC (Just About Caring), a Literary Magazine, a Mathematics League, the Spring Musical, the Yearbook, etc.

When it comes to athletics, Pascack Hills prides itself in their rich tradition and history of athletic achievement. Sports include cheerleading, dance, cross-country, football, boys' soccer, girls' soccer, tennis, volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, bowling, ice hockey, swimming, wrestling, Winter Track, baseball, Gold, softball, and lacrosse.

The Trailblazer, the school newspaper, is published on quarterly. The Wrangler is the annual yearbook.

Pascack Hills was also the number one ranked wrestling team in the United States in 1977, and coach Bucky Rehain received numerous awards during his long successful career.
